Awesome Scott, I missed the start of this yesterday! Congrats on being part of the scrambler family! The horn definitely is operated by the center of the steering. When that pressure sensor goes it's a bit of a project disassembling the steering wheel to get it. If it's the wiring inside the column that's a whole different battle. Were you able to track it down?

From what I've read, it looks like an aftermarket steering wheel. I'm guessing when they put it on they just didn't bother wiring up the horn or rid it incorrectly. Either way, I have a working horn, it's just not the steering wheel. So it's moved down on the priority list till I take care of some other things.

On the OEM, there's no need to pull it to replace the horn, it is mounted above in the sequence of parts. That does not look like a stock wheel so I'm not sure there. I agree on moving it down the list. I've got a whole white board set up in my garage for each jeep with repairs like that have been sitting for years!! There's never enough time in the day!

So cool. A beautifully restored one with a pickup bed / hard top just showed up in my neighbors driveway. I was like ...what's ...up?

Put together a build list for Atticus with links. All suggestions welcome. I'm really encouraged that the total for the first list is only around $750. The second list will be partially funded by selling the current tube doors (got a buyer lined up already) and the hardtop.

Yeah, seems to be the consensus that it should be in the steering wheel. Looks like an aft steering wheel which wasn't properly installed.

This be is gonna be cool to follow!

That steering wheel looks like its made by Grant. I had the exact same thing on my old 77 Ford pickup. If you pry off the cap there should be the same horn ring under it that is pushed up by a spring. Mine used to pop off all the time and the spring would fall out allowing the horn to blare continuously until you could get it assembled back in place. Quite fun while you were looking for the stupid spring rolling around on the floor somewhere and EVERYONE is looking at you like WTF man? :cheesy:

Yep, that's what mine looks like. So maybe the purposefully didn't wire it up. I may wait and see if I can find a stock steering wheel and wire it up to that.

Anyone know if I need a whole new drag link or I can just replace the joints somehow?

Tempting to just do the $330 package for drag link and tie rod but I like keeping the stock parts if I can
