I think the play here is trading Taiwan for our control over our own hemisphere - Greenland and Venezuela are a start. Trump will try to lock up Mexico and Canada somehow next. The rest of South and Central America will really have no choice but to fall in line.
China will then feel they have no choice but to try for Taiwan. As long as we get the chip makers there somehow secured or taken out I think we'll look the other way IF we're secured. We won't need anyone else.
