Hey bro, not trying to be a dick or anything, but your statement is of no use to this thread at all. You have a buddy with some brand of a hydro system that he couldn't fix. Great.

All I was saying is I agree you should spend the money on a well thought out setup because from my perspective anything else is just going to be more headache than it's worth. That is what others have been stating as well.

Okay, that's totally cool. I just thought it might be helpful to at least mention it was a no name brand, or at least one of the issues he was having with what part. And I agree completely, going with a piece-together setup is probably a bigger headache than going with a complete ready-to-go-kit.
