I am going to chop the bumper tubes off the Smitty SRC today! Sawzall and grinder are ready! :thumb:

Hopefully the lift goes on this week. :rock:

The bumper is now a stubby. I just need to do a little grinding and painting to finish it off.

I also got the C gussets welded on today. I'm going to try to have the lift on by the weekend.

Finished the bumper.


Also slapped some paint on it to keep it from rusting.

Now onto the lift.


Hopefully done in a day or two. No help goes slower.

Yeah I need to. The texture isn't a good match now. Didn't really see much at lowes. Thought I might try this stuff.


Haven't tested it yet. I need to hit the gussets too.

Try autozone or the like by you. They should have the spray bedliner which should give you a bit more texture. Looks good though!

Looks really good! Could you rattle can the entire bumper? I bet you've got some scratches that could be painted too!

Ok quick question. Do the longer springs go up front? I am assuming they do just from looking at what's there now compared to the back.

The skinnier ones go in the front. Fatter in the back.

I have the same bumper and have been thinking about cutting it too. when you cut the tubes off, we're there holes in the other part of the bumper or was I just solid?

It's solid.

Actually after closer inspection the taller one is the only one that fits over the bump stop.
