I was talking to my wife last night about painting the gussets and she suggested using press and seal for masking stuff off. Pintrest is where she saw it. It worked great!
Used a little foil too.
Never thought I'd get great advice about painting from my wife! :crazyeyes:

did we ever clear up the rear shock res. question? is the KING custom hose clamp or the new "mystery" clamp?

I honestly haven't seen any pics with a new clamp. I looked on their sight. Where did you see it?
someone posted in the "what you did this week" thread a bit ago. i will see if i can find it....

That's pretty cool! Much nicer than the hose clamps. :doh:
Fox shocks are kind of like that. Hmmm..:thinking: There are no rubber isolators between the shock and the Res. either. seems a little odd.
I wonder if that is something aftermarket?
nope, he said that is how ORE installed them..... hence the mystery

You did loosen the LCA bolts before jacking it up right? If you didn't you will have one hell of a time getting them off. Ask me how I know.

Shiny red knobs! :shock: Looks good!
Shocks and springs in and torqued.. Now on to the LCAs and drag link flip.

Lol. I didn't loosen them but did have to jack the axle back up some to get the bolts out. These new ones are being a little bitchy going in. Gonna wait till some help arrives.
I'll start on the drag link flip till they get here.

From personal experience I would put the wheels on and put the jeep on the ground. Then jack it up whichever way you need to to get them in. It's really hard to get it right without playing around with it a lot.
