The building of GR8WHITE2.0 aka The Silver Piece

Really wheelbase depends on a lot of things such as how you wheel, size tires and also moving them away from the tub will give u a better approach and departure angle for climbing steeper stuff without anything getting in the way.

I did see where wheelbase helped out with the Resq1 rig climbing that steep hill (PNW series I think), other than that I guess I hadn't given it much thought.

So up next i bought a used set of 4 door rubi rails that i cut down on each end. Then I chopped the fenders and did some pinch seam/wheel well work to fit the 37's with no lift ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1463448879.815886.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1463448748.916426.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1463448773.777432.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1463448789.286531.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1463448804.765493.jpg

Next, I made a tramp stamp/license plate holder/cb mount. And then I threw in my cb out of the old jeep. Looks good so far, makes me want to learn how to weld and fab my own parts. Can't wait for more updates on the build.
Do it! Being able to fab is a great skill that really comes in handy. Im a self taught welder and have been doing it for a few years now. You can do anything with a welder, plasma cutter, and grinder.

And finally, after the fender chop and wheel well work, I stuck the 37's on. They are 15x8 trail readys with a Tj bolt pattern so I had to run 1.25" adapters. Unfortunately the wheels and tires are not mine and they are just temporary. Looks like a fun build. Good luck.
Thanks. Should be one capable rig.
Looks sweet. Be prepared to get very intimate with your sawzall, grinder and welder.
I am already pretty intimate on a daily basis... Haha
Glad to see another 2 door build! Subbed
2 door for the win!
I must say, I was absolutely shocked at what a stock suspension JK with 37s and open D30 and D44 axles could do. You were giving it hell down at the bottom of rattle rock but it makes me saline how much more capable my rig is than I am.
I honestly have no idea how I didn't break anything. I was prepared to strip that 30 and drive home but thankfully I didn't have to. Haha
Nice!! This is going to be a bad ass build! #team2door lol!:thumb:
Thanks. She should turn out pretty good.
Will be watching this build good luck and was good seeing you again.
Thanks and it was good talking to you again. Hopefully have it done by the end of summer run.
How you didn't break somethings other than a fender and a few dings, I have NO clue. Definitely interested in seeing what the driver side rocker looks like!
I have no idea either. Lol I will take a pic of the driver side rocker when i get around to it. It definitely took a few pretty good hits...

Mikey, how has the power steering been since the trip? You were saying it might have been shot.

It turned out it was just really low on fluid, like I had thought. I got some fluid from a gas station that night and it has been good.

The part buying has started. Ordered Tires, Ori's, atlas 4 speed, all heims for control arms, heims for steering, all bolts for control arms and struts, Trail Ready Beadlocks, and front Ruff Stuff Diff cover. The tires have already showed up and all the Ruff Stuff has shipped. The wheels, atlas, and struts are about 4-5 weeks out. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1463669438.537949.jpg

So pumped to watch this one. Cant wait to see it stretched.

Same here, this thing is going to be one capable rig. And seeing how far he was able to push the stock suspension ride last week at windrock, I'll be bringing my popcorn in August to watch some of his runs.
