The New Bronco: Better than the Original?

Interesting. How'd they do?

Hard to say. The drivers seemed pretty green. The largest tire was a 35, with a couple of rigs running even less. I have the impression they rely on traction control intelligence quite a bit. I did see them run a couple of tough challenges, but all three were pretty banged up, more than you’d want to bring home to the wife. The IFS is the weakness for any hard wheeling or using the Bronco as a platform for heavy modding.

I thought I saw a few dents in the pictures lol they don’t look like they would do so well on the rocks... they are kinda ugly in my opinion

This thread has a lot of great content. It’s interesting to see a lot of the facts and comparisons. I definitely value competition and variety in general. With that said though,
I hate this stupid-ass bronco. It’s terrible.

Just got off the Rubicon. Crossed paths with a bunch of Ford engineers doing some late stage testing and refining of the Bronco computers. View attachment 351358View attachment 351359View attachment 351360View attachment 351361View attachment 351362

That's pretty cool that you guys got to see them in action, to get a first-hand opinion instead of the press release BS we usually get to see.

Hope you guys are having a great trip.

Just saw a video of this online. And I'll say I wasn't real impressed. Granted, it was probably mostly the drivers, inexperience, not airing down, etc. But it certainly didn't look nearly as capable as even some of the more moderately built jeeps from this forum.

The Broncos had a pretty stock JKUR chase vehicle that looked a lot less beat up ... [emoji848]

Yeah, I was the thinking the same thing looking at the pictures.

The IFS will be the down fall of that platform. It can’t handle torque on the rocks and eats the CVs.

Cool to see though

I think IFS has its place. From the Rubicon video I've seen that is not its place.

Desert bombing may be a different choice.

Saw one of these in person today. Looks like a midget Honda Element. Not impressed.
I've seen a couple 4 doors this week. Thought it was some kinda weird Nissan, but the Element comparison is spot on. Looks like a fucking platypus. Maybe the 2 door will be better. 🤷

It was in a parking lot and I honestly wouldn't have even noticed it because it was so plain looking but just happened to see the word 'Bronco' across the back. Made me immediately proud to be a Jeep owner.

You are most likely seeing the "Bronco Sport" which is a restyle of an existing crossover. The, real Bronco is still being demoed to the media and influencers in carefully controller events. Most recently at an off-road park near Austin.

Just looked at some photos on the web and you're probably right. Stupid move on Ford's part. Should've called it the Platypus and not a Bronco.

Thought I wouldn't see anything uglier than a Mustang II, but I guess they didn't learn. 😂

Could be. Who knows. Looks like an inbred piece of shit though.
