Torn boot on rear factory drive line

Hey all! Managed to peel off the plastic covering on my rear driveline last weekend, seems to be functioning fine at the moment but thoughts on how long I might have until I need to replace it. Plan is to go to a 1350 at some point but funds aren't exactly where I'd like them to be so trying to hold on a bit longer if you think it's possible as is. Thanks!

I guess I went way overboard when I only put a little rip in mine. I'm holding out for an upgrade too. [emoji106] Crazy how a torn boot can cost over a G to upgrade after you get a new DL and adjustable uppers. Ahh JEEP. [emoji847]

It's just a slip joint, you really don't NEED the boot.
Double Cardans have the same style joint and don't run boots.
It's the transfer case CV boot you don't want to rip.
