^^ That's great, until you get a flat. After the PITA of taking everything off to change a tire, you then get to figure out how to use that setup with a tire that won't hold air.
X2 on this. In a perfect world this would be an option but I would want to steer clear of something like that. My suggestion was for a rack that attaches directly to the tire carrier itself and not be in the way. However, you'll want to be sure you aren't already testing the limits of the tire carrier (an OEM carrier especially) with a larger than normal spare. An example of this would be a 37-40" tire on a Shittybuilt carrier,(or anything above a bicycle tire on a Tereflex hinged carrier).
