VIDEO : 20 YEARS of SEMA Highlights

Thanks guys, that was fun. 👍🏻 Yeah, as others have said, there was more innovation back then and maybe not so much nowadays- but it makes sense seeing that the JK was so different to the CJ and TJ. Once the JL came out it was just retrofitting JK things for the JL. Now there’s probably not that much room for unique development.

Glad you enjoyed the video. As far as innovation goes, I think there's still a lot more that could be done, I just don't think we'll be seeing it on Jeeps or for now anyway. A lot more people would need to be buying them and they aren't right now.

I should note that even if there were companies coming out with new stuff, they aren't showing it at SEMA anymore. After 2020, a LOT of companies decided that they just didn't need to spend the money on shows especially when they can just promote themselves on social media or through the use of whores. It's really depressing that NONE of the tire companies are coming and they used to take up some of the most expensive real estate at the show.

Eddie that was a blast to watch and really see how things have changed over the years. One thing I absolutely agree with you on is the dislike of all the different aftermarket grills. Even my wife agrees with me that it just ruins the look of the Jeep. Neither of our Jeeps will ever see an aftermarket grill.

Sucks but totally makes sense. There's so much online presence vs paying for physical space. Not just in automotive but retail, etc. Scary times .

Awesome! Really happy to hear you enjoyed seeing our walk down memory lane. And yes, those stupid grills just suck!

Oh, it makes total sense. It's super expensive to show at SEMA and the ROI just isn't what it used to be. The only problem is, when you talk to manufacturers, none are really that happy with "influencers" and most will openly reminisce about when we had real journalists, people who actually had experience and knew the industry (instead people just whoring) helping to spread the word about their products. Of course, those people are all gone now.

I have skipped on purchasing tire brand only because of the idiot influencer pimping them.

What a great video. So many memories coming back. I have to say, 2013, 2014 were still my favorite years. Unfortunately, so many manufacturers have gone away since.

Started last night and finished this morning. What a great video! Sema 09 is the version of moby that sticks out most to me. Prob the first version of him I remember seeing with the spiderlocks and 40’s. The LoD rear bumper and tire carrier with the rack was a cool set up as well.

Can’t wait to see what the show has to offer this year, even if it is more BRO builds. Always need them for a good laugh lol
