Changing the differential fluid on your Jeep Wrangler JL or Gladiator is something you should do as a part of routine maintenance and or any time you've been playing in water deep enough to submerge your entire axle. And, while drain bolts are no longer present on mid 2021 and up models, the process is still quick and easy to do and thanks to the reusable diff cover gaskets that are now included in their place. This video will show you how to save a lot of money by doing it yourself, in just minutes and with a few basic tools.

Great video! Now that I know that gasket is reusable I need to pop the covers on mine. I’ve changed the oil many times but just using the drain plugs. Will be nice to check things out with ease. Thanks! 👍

To be clear, the reusable gasket only comes on diffs that do NOT have drain plugs.

CORRECTION - I was just informed that reusable gaskets are on all JL and JT

LOL - I should clarify that upon further review, JET, our 2018 JLUR did NOT have the reusable gaskets. Not sure if this was just because he was a early build or when the change was made but there's that.
Ok, I’ll just order a set for front and back next time i do my change. After that one, the WILL have reusable gaskets. 😆

Before you order anything, I would try and make sure that you do or don't have a gasket already. If you look at your cover where it mates up to the differential, you will see a gap between the two if you have a gasket. If not, you should see signs of RTV. Just trying to save you some money.
