Totally. They have skyrocketed in price. It’s nuts!Would love an old 7.3 if I could find/afford one.
I know I'm a little late to this thread but I think HighwayTrout has some solid advice. Was hoping to get some input on this as I’m considering switching the Miata out for a used truck to daily - obviously in the interest of space, ability to haul dirt bikes and whatnot, non-wheeling road trips, and maybe even towing the Jeep or jet skis if need be.
Not too concerned on efficiency but as a commuter primarily it would help - so I’d like to hear your experiences with maybe Ecoboost/V8 Fords, Hemi/EcoDiesel Rams, or V8/Duramax GM products.
On top of efficiency and capability, your experience in your given truck’s reliability would be greatly appreciated as well - I’d plan to keep a truck for a while.
Any notable midsize trucks would be helpful as well, but I’d prefer a half ton for sure.
I’m curious what exactly is wrong with this? The shag is green with orange accents woven in for reference. Because, you know, orange is the new offroading trim. Otherwise it would be purple.Do you plan to put a white camper shell with only a skylight to view the stars on it maybe a shag interior with an air mattress and a lava lamp and make trips to park down by the river?
Toyota would be solid but I have to say I’ve just never been a fan. Looks wise mainly. The 2UZ and 3UZ V8s were awesome though.Well good, I'd say Toyota.
The guys i know that have DEF diesel trucks seem to always have issues, of the 25 Ford trucks client uses in the oil field, the 10 DEF trucks seem to always be in for repair; granted they work them hard but the previous non DEF diesels ran strong.
100%. I have a lot of cash put away and paid the Jeep off earlier this year. That’s the plan and I really just wanted to start a discussion given me buying a truck is inevitable anyway.Unless you're already in this position, Trout is dead nuts on: Debt free all the way. Build up a nest egg & pay cash & get established in your new gig then look at something.
