A short picture story from Apuseni Mountains - one of the most beautiful and pristine parts of Romanian Carpathians..
nice and clean - before the start :sigh: of our 1st Jamboree day
...hit the dust ....
massive deforestation .....
ancestors anchored on rocks
from the shadow of these mountains
first target - into the deep - Ice Cave Scarisoara (underworld glacier)
After we've plunged into the underworld we brought some good warm traditional pancakes prepared locally and filled with brown berries or cheese :brows:
always good to have
.......
one of the last human inhabited village before getting lost into the woods
towards the depths again ...
slowly ...
some called it "infernum"
but we've admired such sleaping beauty as nature forged it for millions of years
back outside --- fantastic autumn out there
but soon back into another depths - caving - Coiba Mare Cave with water inside
back in business ... toward the summit amid some deep muddy& sticky trails
awaiting ...

awesome shadows and lights show at the sunset
before hitting road to our base camp back (great 1st day - almost 120 km full of everithing we've possible desired)

Second Day we've started early in the morning :yawn37::yawn37::yawn37: after a long shot session ....:beer::beer::beer: from the previous night :whew:
amid mountain villages remotely anchored into the Apuseni Mountains
First stop & wake up near a wonderful waterfall called the Bride's Veil

.... searching some gold in an old gold mine... in this area the gold was "harvested" since Roman times ....
..slowly upwards
close to another POI called Pietrele Albe (White Stones)
lizzarding arround into the sunny day
our host proves a kind of Ironman :icon_crazy:
wonderful blue sky..
Flooded forest - 1500 m altitude in the middle of nowhere
followoing our guide closely and watching the one before us which was knowing where the big boulders were placed within this tricky and risky flooded path :shock::shock::shock: adrenaline path would say
Pasta time
snakes on rocks
towards the light
nice climbs towards the summit again
CJ the Crusader
lunch time on the top
past & present
clouds people
some mud there
before the sunset we've checked our adrenaline level on the chains climbing up and down into another cave Cetatile Radesei (Cheile Somesului Cald - Padis)
some action
eyes towards the depths
our girls had fun as well
lost cowboy hat somewhere there
second evenigng
moon rise above us... we hit the road back to the camp site
group pick by night

Wow! Your adventures are the very definition of the word EPIC! Thanks for sharing the pictures!
I was stationed in Germany a few years ago and saw many beautiful sights and even looked looked for places to wheel my little TJ but I never found anything like your pictures.:thumb:

I can't believe I missed this thread with all the awesome pics and vids of your journeys. I miss you Europe. A lot of people just don't understand the beauty until they go there. I think next time instead of a tour I'm gonna rent a Jeep! Thank you for reawakening my passion for travel.:beer:
