47/11 is the gear ratio. 47 ring gear teeth, 11 pinion teeth. 4.27.1 ratio. The "T" tag stands for power lock differential (factory option) ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1392597650.764605.jpg

How do I know this? My 1958 service manual says so.. ! ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1392598009.098540.jpg

Very cool!! I'm pretty sure that my new J2000 has a Dana 53 too. Kind of a weird axle

Luckily most of the old jeep trucks did, so parts should not be a problem.

Btw,
OTC 7394 Universal Hub Puller is a must have for this axle.

Cool! Thanks for the tip. I've got an FSM on order and can't wait to start pouring through the pages :yup:

New speedo and brake parts came in from Crown. Couple more orders of brake parts and I'm ready to tear down the axles. Happy I'll have a working fuel gauge and speedo..

I have yet to find a replacement gauge for the FC, so one from a CJ will work just fine for now ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1392698301.998655.jpg

Is it possible to have the factory gage refurbished? And every time I see this thread it makes me wish I had a FC, they are so cool.

Not that I know of. I'm debating on taking the new one apart and replacing the face with the original.

But if rather not have to broken speedo's..

Did a Google search pulled up a couple places that rebuild them might be something to look into if your wanting to keep it original, Hard telling what they charge though.

Pull apart the old one first and see what it looks like. Then maybe you can get an idea on the overlay for the new one. Shouldn't be too hard.

Although it's not the same vehicle I have pulled apart a few gauge cluster and it wasn't too bad. I just kept the needle in line when putting it back on.
