The Pumpkin "Build"

Couple of silly "mods" I made. I like the decals, put them over the stock warning roll over risk. I think they are cool.... ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1393731131.114594.jpg

Put the tilt cage above the windshield under the footman loop. It doesn't really do that much but again I like how it looks....

Here are my switches for the LED spot lights... The zombie lights are on the bumper hoop. The back up lights are mounted on the windshield mounts - had the switch already so I used it anyway, wrong label but works well enough.

The carbon fiber covered safety switch controls the bypass relay for the lockers. Allows me to lock the front, rear or both differentials in any range.... Very useful, but I cannot take credit for this modification as the previous owner pug it in. Best mod thus far!

Not a modification, but I took the hard top off. Am going to order the removable metalcloak flares, or wear a rain coat ( lol). ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1394594633.616873.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1394594653.155213.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1394594686.734869.jpg

Put my ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1394930839.055440.jpg WAYALIFE windshield banner, mounted twin fire extinguishers, and pulled the rear carpet sections. Going to reapply the undercoat in the tub when the weather gets consistently better...

Looking good!!

One note- I had my fire extinguishers mounted in the same place for a while, but after a recent trip I changed it due to what I learned. One of the people on the trip works for a fire suppression company and she told me that when the fire extinguishers are mounted vertically on something that bounces around a lot, the chemical powder packs down too tight and they don't work as well if at all. If you keep them mounted vertically, pull them out and tap them with a mallet once a month or so to keep the chemicals loose. 👍

Thanks for that. Yours is mounted horizontally next to the drivers seat, right?

Ok just a few updates the the glacial build of the Pumpkin.....

LED aux back up lights, mounted- really close to the tire carrier. Maybe too close. Might need to change the mounting bracket. Have not wired them yet, got to decide if they are staying put

JKS sway bar disconnects. Still need to mount the storage posts. Drill and tap.

LED lights (never enough!) that I am going to wire to the factory fog light wires.

Drilled and tapped and mounted the storage post onto the frame (for the JKS disconnects) today.
Figure while I was under there I would grease the control arms, upper ball joints and drag link (steering bar thing...)

Anybody know why the upper ball joints are grease able but the lowers are not??

Learning new stuff all the time...

Checked and topped off the gear oil in both pigs as well....

Nothing worth taking pictures of.

So, I posted this in a separate thread but it still belongs in my "build" thread....

I removed the front fender flares and painted the area that was covered flat black, replaced the side marker with and 3/4 amber LED.

THE ULTIMATE PLAN is a set of metal cloak front fenders to match the rears, but for now this gives me more stuffing room and a narrow body and wide tire stance up front to also match the rears.....

Obviously, a work in progress.

I have a question for the Framily...
Got the shaft today... Coast CV rear driveshaft. I think replacing a DS should be fairly straight forward, but are there little tips or tidbits I should know? Is there a how to thread that covers this upgrade? Let me know. Tango Yankee.
