Rubicon trip October 3rd-5th

So in layman's terms...

So from what I understand the Rubicon Trail is open. Even though it states that Ice House Road is closed, I believe it is referring to the area west of Ice House Road (i.e. it is setting the boundary of the closed area). I'm sure others with more information will chime in.

I read it as Ice House road just defines the boundary. If it is closed we can always run the trail backwards. But I believe it is or will be open for us to get to Loon

This is what it says:

"Some popular recreation areas will be re-opened to the public on September 30, 2014, announced Forest Supervisor Laurence Crabtree. Recreation areas such as the Rubicon Jeep Trail, Wrights Lake, Desolation Wilderness and the east side of Ice House Road are open to the public"

So I'm directionally challenged...but I'm assuming the east side of Ice House Road is the portion we need to get to Loon Lake?????? Yay or nay???

If that is the case, then it looks like we're all set!!!!:wings:

Edit: I called to get a verbal verification. She said you can get on Ice House Road, but can't go west. She verified that Loon Lake is on the east side of Ice House Road, so we will definitely be able to get to the trail from that entrance...Yaaayyy!!!!

You find a place to babysit them?

I would't expect people to want to drive further than necessary but if you want to store doors in Reno I have room and they are secure...unless Eddie still needs some. ;)

As of today I am still up in the air. "Somebody" needs a couple of new tires to arrive in time. :cheesy:
