No problem fellas! I know that after being on the highway for a long period of time and doing 65-70mph and then going into a 45 or 55mph zone it doesn't feel like you're going that fast so you speed up. And before you know it you're running 70 down some back roads and there sits a cop lol. Ask me how I know this :/

How do you know this? (I'm that guy)

Referencing travel and out of staters: I always look at handgunlaw.us when making a trip. Look for yourself if applicable, but the big thing to know, is that NC is a "duty to inform" state. If you're carrying, and get pulled over or what not, you are required to tell the officer.

Also, carry in the National Park is legal, according to the website.

This post is in no way legal advice. Grown folks are responsible for their own actions and decisions.

would love to go... is it doable without lockers?

I don't have any. I've gone through a lot if things that people told me I needed lockers for. You just need to know your, and your vehicles, limits. If you don't feel comfortable doing it, then don't. No one will think anything less about it. I would do the hard trails, but I have to drive back to Florida, plus keep the wife happy.

Since we are on the topic of traveling, I just wanted to give everyone a heads up about the area since I'm from NC and live pretty close to Uwharrie. But the cops here in NC are pretty big dicks to out of staters. The big thing is speeding (speeding in a Jeep lol). But for everyone using the major hwys. Interstate 77 is 65mph in NC until you get north of Statesville, which i doubt any of you go that route. Hwy 421 speed limit is 65mph too and is HEAVILY watched my troopers. Hwy 85 is a mix of 55-65 depending on if your near Charlotte or not. Hwy 64 I'm pretty sure is 55 most of the way, in some places is 65. That goes the same for hwys 73-74. And once you get off the major roads everything will be 55mph unless you're in city limits which will mostly be 35.
I just don't want anyone getting a ticket to ruin their weekend you know!?
Good thing you warned Grubbicon because he's known for having that must go 80 at all times attitude and a heavy right foot.

Mr.Ty, I volunteered to take an easy group out, but you can place me where you see fit.

When he and I talked yesterday, we had you leading the Easy group if you're up for it.

That would leave Mr.Ty running the Medium and croge17 running the Hard.

I will get you added to the list and forward you hotel info via PM. Camping info is listed in the original post.

Seriously considering this trip down from VA. Would have to see if anyone else here is down to go too. Would have to sign up for the easy group since this is my first time ever offloading and owning a jeep lol

Do it!!! You won't regret it!

Easy is just fine with me. Heading down from VA on Friday; hopefully I can get a run or two in on other trails before Saturday.
