Hinrichs 2.0

I may see if my parents garage ceiling is tall enough to put a hoist in, at least I could store it there. Sadly my larger garage addition has a very low ceiling since the previous owners were idiots. The jeep can fit in the garage, but I only have about 2" to the ceiling so any work in winter other than doing an oil change or diff service is out of the question. I am going to see what soft top deals are available for black friday and hopefully buy one. Hell it may even go on before winter is over. I really only need to pull the top just to re-route my cb cable along the roll bar, and then install the center cage section so I can be done with that till spring when I add the rear.

My parents just bought a new house. The garage doors are short. Their 3/4 ton 4x4 crew cab Chevy barely clears both height and length. They were a little mad when I pointed out that the truck will barely fit. They had not even thought about the truck. Lol.

Yeah I bought my house when I was into lowered cars, which I still am, but never thought I would own anything like the jeep, so yeah lol. Been looking for a new place.

Ya...I'm going through the same issues. My problem isn't necessarily the ceiling height, it's the angle. My hoist is about dead even with the bottom of my garage door. I'm probably going to have to air down to use it. I just bought my soft top so fortunately I won't be using it as frequently as I did this year :D

The cage looks awesome! I need to quit buying tools and order one.

I thought about airing down a lot, If thats what I have to do then I will. I do like the hardtop, dont think its any warmer but it is a little quieter for sure, but never though it would be this heavy at all.

For the winter months you can't beat a hard top. You're right, the stock hard top is not that much warmer. Insulation panels help out tremendously, though. I painted the entire inside black, then used insulation foam and wrapped with digital camo canvas. The temp finally dropped down to the 20's this week and was my 1st real experience with the extra insulation....well worth the effort!!

This is my hoist set-up

The hardtop now is plenty warm, plus having remote start really helps in the mornings.

This is why a hoist won't work lol.

Yeah, you need a bigger garage
Yeah my goal is to build my own 2 bay or 3 bay garage loft. I will be getting a lift as well, doing it all in one shot. That way im set for life lord willing

Still thinking about ordering some other things, but ended up getting some more of the derlin door pin liners, not that I am having issues yet getting the doors off, but figure why not swap them before they get stuck so that will be next weeks fun install. Also ordered a new 21.5" light bar to replace the current inspired one that is starting to have issues. They updated the bars a lot since I first got the one I have so I figure I will get the new one, then send the old one down to get fixed and then run that on the bmw for some extra light.

Those door pin liners are nice and I would think a must have in any area that sees a lot of salted roads. On the 07 we bought from our friend in NY, I literally had to use a floor jack to help get the doors off being that the pins were so rusted in.

I need those liners. Mine are basically shot at this point. Next spring is going to be interesting when I go to take my doors off

They can get nasty quick here for sure. It took a lot to get my old doors off so I decided why not and got a set and loved them. They do tend to swing even faster if you forget the straps tho . Nice thing now is the kit also comes with a install tool that should make removing the old liners even easier than last time when I used a socket.

So I decided last night to give the lux lighting LEDs a try. Been looking at them for a little while now and figured why not order them while they are on sale. I was originally going to just order the 8 light kit, and run 2 up front, 2 down the sides then 2 out back for good coverage. But then I was thinking how nice it is to have the suspension lit up if you need to check something out. It will be overkill for rock lights especially since we can't really do any night lighting but at least it will look cool lol.

I will try and post a good write up of where I will be placing them.

I'm looking forward to your write up and review on these. I've been considering options for different rock lights from what I have now and have been looking at these.

I watched one guys install on youtube, which was a good base to start off of. The thing I feel will be tricky is running all the wires for them. I think the magnet mounts are the best idea yet for them, since you can move them if needed easily.

Yeah the magnet feature is sweet. Running the wires shouldn't be too bad though. You'll soon find out!

Since its raining I decided to start to try the electrolysis on the spare kings
