Much better! The half doors are awesome and the ability to drop the top whenever you want without planning is what makes a Wrangler for me! Looks great!

Thanks, yes I want the full versatility. I know the side and rear windows can roll up in kind of a duffle bag, but how do people store the upper halves, when dropping the top?

Well, I have a 4 door, so I have always just thrown mine in the cargo area. They fit there good and I still have room for crap. Its been a while since Ive owned a 2 door, so Im not sure if they would fit behind you rear seat. Im my old CJ7, I ran it without a back seat, so again, I just threw the upper doors in the back.

Whenever i've owned Jeeps with half doors, I would just stand the uppers upside down behind the rear seat, never had any problems with them riding like that, even for long distances at highway speeds.

The guy that was supposed to sell me his soft top has gone off the radar. I might have to find another one. Bummer :hmm: I even got the upper half all shined up using wax on the windows to get rid of some of the scratches and cleaned out the fabric. In stead I will spend the money on getting the C-gussets and lower control arm skids welded on.

Its pretty fucking annoying. He doesn't answer my calls. When I called him yesterday the line was busy. 2 min later I call him again and he doesn't pick up. He probably sold it to someone else. Total :asshat: Nevermind...

C-gussets paint

What do people do when painting their c-gussets and LCA skids?
Powder coat or regular spray paint after they are on? If they were powdercoated before would the welding mess it up?

Roger that. I'll just paint them after. Dropping off Polar Bear for the weld job tomorrow morning.

You can buy lots of textured paints in rattle cans if you want to give it a powdercoat look. For where those parts are located at and the chance of hitting rocks on the skids, I wouldn't spend the money for powdercoating. I've used Rustoleum Truckbed Coating and love the finish it provides.

Thanks. I'll get a few cans of Rustoleum. Polar Bear was left at the workshop today for the next couple of days. Can't wait to get it back!

Ordered a new original soft top today. It's ready for pickup later this afternoon. It's gonna be so great to drive on the highway with top on, and then drop it once I'm on the trail.

Damn Mopar instructions. It was very hard to see which side one of the brackets should be on. Especially with the top upside down on the floor. So I guessed (WRONG) and one of the bolts broke when I tried to fold the top on. I'll buy a new bolt tomorrow. No big deal, but just a bit annoying.
