Napalm's Billet Steel! The 2016 JKU Sport Build Thread and Picture Diary

Congrats!!

Congrats! The more Jeeps, the merrier!

Congrats to you both

Double congrats man... and I know what you are talking about, my inlaws have one and I was blown away by it...
Now let the mods on Steel begin

Congrats on the new Jeep.

Congrats on the new Cherokee for the wife!

Congrats. My fiancé has the Jeep bug, now. Wants a Renny after watching Eddie and Cindy. I think the Cherokee is pretty slick,

Congrats! Happy Wife Happy Life!

Well played...congrats on the new Jeep!

I like that color, congrats on the new ride to you and the wife!

Thanks everyone! It is definately a great looking ride and much better than her rogue. Drives incredibly smooth, and feels like much more than just a Cherokee. I originally wanted her to get a Renegade Trailhawk, but she wanted something with more luxury features.

I'm so mad, I've already put a good little scratch in the leather [emoji35]

Congrats! Has your wife named it yet?

Thanks! No she hasn't yet.. It'll take her awhile!

Congrats to both of you, more money for mods with that lower interest rate🤔[emoji106]🏻

Yes sir! We did increase our car payment just because the Cherokee is much more car than our rogue was, but with the lower interest rate we are paying less to the bank! LoL!

Spent some time cleaning up Steel tonight. It's already been 6 months!

Trying to make some final decisions before placing my order soon for the first round of parts.

Spent some time today with Cletus getting the Windows tinted. The refinement in the Cherokee is much more than I expected.

Awesome news on the new jeep! My wife and I will have to make a road trip to Shreveport at some point. Been to Baton Rouge and NOla a few times, but never up north.

It's a great time. I can assure you, you guys will enjoy it!

Wow Nate that beautiful Sahara bud congrats to the in-laws

Congrats to them on the new jeep! Love the color matched hard top.

Now you have one less reason to make fun of the in-laws!
Love the name Cletus! Well played sir.

Thanks guys! And the name Cletus was completely satirical but just stuck!

Ladies and gentleman, it is finally time to start the first stage of Steel's build. I want to thank everyone to being patient and dealing with all my pictures waiting for the build to actually start! It's been a long time coming for this and something I thought wouldn't happen with this Jeep, but after finally showing my wife what the Wayalife really means, she is hooked and on board with the build. It's taken us a while to budget things and decide exactly what we want.

Stage 1 will be focused on recovery. Which means better tow points, a winch, and then a little something extra :)
I've just gotten off the phone with Wes from Trail Jeeps, and on the way we have:
-EVO 1/4 Pounder
-Revolution Stinger
-EVO Rear D Ring Mounts
-EVO Leveling kit

I have not ordered my winch just yet, because I am holding out on a good deal on a used Warn. If I cannot find one before our next trip, I'll most likely end up purchasing a Quadratec winch because they have a decent warranty through Quadratec. That's why I am holding out on the winch.

Steel can barely contain her excitement!

That's awesome! Congrats bro, great place to start! The great thing about Jeeps is, they look awesome no matter what stage of build they are in!
Although I love Warn and plan on eventually getting one, I do like the look of Quadratec's stealth series winches. I haven't really heard anything either way about them though.
