Official 2015 Jeep Wrangler Info.....

I like the made in the USA warn winches. For a loaded up 4 door, I'd say around 9.5 or up.

I totally agree with the "Made In The USA" unfortunately so rare these days but that's for another time. So the 9.5 or 10 would be the way to go then? What about synthetic rope versus conventional cable?

Well, the vr series are China made, but I chose synthetic line for safety reasons.

Welcome to Wayalife!

Fully built up JKU's can get pretty heavy. I personally wouldn't go below something with a 9,500 lb rating. Be mindful of your bumper choice because some of the new Warn winches do not fit in all bumpers. If you have the money, buy a Warn. Having a winch not work when you need it to is high on the list of things that suck. If you air down to wheel (which you should), you might want to consider killing two birds with one stone by getting a Warn Powerplant.

That's great info and it is much appreciated. I definitely plan to air down especially once I get a lift and 37"s etc... Is it not a good idea to mount said Warn in the factory steel bumper that comes on the new Hard Rock? I'm sure I will change out the bumper at some point (I like the PS Rock Brawler stuff) but will the factory one work until then? Thanks

PowerPlant probably won't fit in that bumper without cutting it up substantially. You still have to purchase a winch plate if you are going to use the factory steel bumper

A dealership in Cincinnati has a Tank. Color is very gray. Check out the photos. It is clearly an overcast day, it would probably look more green in sunlight. If you check the window sticker on the site it claims Tank Clear Coat. I didn't think they were available to order yet. That dealer also has a Baja Yellow. http://wyler.com/New-2015-Jeep-Wrangler-Rubicon-Cincinnati-OH/vd/22368745

Not really a fan of that color. Looks like I'll be going with black.

That is definitely the "Old school OD Green" on all of the military vehicles I learned to operate in South Korea before CARC was developed. Not sure I could drive it daily where I am overseas cuz folks would think I'm driving a military vehicle but, I love it and would show it off in the states all day long! It sure is purty!

P.S. I have a VIN now!!! Woo hoo

I should have posted at least 1 picture of the Baja Yellow, but it is not longer on that dealerships website. I thought it looked like a good color Yellow. It is bright and definitely yellow. The current Amp'd color looks too gold to me, the Baja Yellow looks like a yellow you would see on a sports car. if you like yellow I think you will like Baja Yellow

Here is the only image I could find of Baja. I believe this is from that dealership still lingering around.

Great thread. Thankfully just the sub location has raised some eyebrows.....better that change then something on the business end.

Plum crazy, hmm. Baja yellow is cool.

No return of Rescue Green....guess my 08 will continue to be unique ;) (along with 07 and 10 model years when this color was available)

awesome info on the 2015 guys, really appreciate the sharing.
It might be a rookie question but are the hood and doors aluminium does anyone know?
Cheers

Seeking advice.

I ordered a 2015 JKUHR (Rubicon X) on 7/3. It was built on 8/8 and has been stuck in inspection hell since then. So far I have been promised 3 ship dates and three delivery dates; all have been missed. The newest date of shipping on 8/28 has gone from a 'it is shipping this date' to a 'it may ship in August' from the dealer.

After looking around the state and neighboring states I have found a few close to what I ordered, none exact. For clarity I ordered, Hydro Blue, manual transmission, 430N radio and the dual top group.

So far I have found on lots:

2014 JKURX in Anvil with everything I ordered except the dual top group, it is missing the soft top.
2015 JKUHR in Silver, missing the radio and the soft top
2015 JKUR in Hydro Blue it is missing the 'X' features, though it has the heated seats (wife required these) it is also missing the radio and soft top

Of the items missing there is nothing critical to our wants that can't be added aftermarket, sometimes in better quality and for cheaper.

Should I sit and wait for my shipping sometime in the next month JK or start negotiations on one of the other options?

I should also mention I have a new front bumper, tires and wheels sitting in the garage waiting for the JK to arrive.

Thoughts?

IMHO Factory soft top isn't worth waiting for. It's nice but you can order a trektop for cheaper.

Power dome hood worth waiting on?

Not even sure what that is??? Lol. But will say you can find the premium soft tops online via forums or craigslists. Premium top is a good upgrade, but might be had elsewhere. Or there is the trek top NX as MTG mentioned.

If it was top purchasing point, then just wait and be happy with no regrets. You have the jeep for years, what's a month.

The hood is this: http://moparonlineparts.com/jeep-wrangler-power-dome-hood-p-4527.html functioning air vents... looks like better than the traditional flat hood, IMO.

The top isn't a hanging point there are enough of those after market. The only things I consider 'tough' after market is paint and transmissions. The other stuff can be had with a little bit of elbow grease after market :thumb:

Talking with my dealer and another dealer on options/pricing at this point. No harm in talking they say.
