Mike, how many do you want me to put you down for? I have the opportunity to make either a vehicle kill or close quarter kill daily with all these ridiculous beasts around my location!

LOL!

So the rope indicates they are not wild (if there is even is such a thing), but do they just roam free?

If they want to wander, I wouldn't stop them. The ones I've encountered can be vicious nasty beasts.

p.s. They don't have snorkels either so they MUST be inadequate for overland travel :D

How much to see you ride one of them?!:D

Chris, I have ridden them and I would rather use differential fluid as deodorant! Camel smell is hard to deal with, they smell pretty damn bad

Doesn't matter what country they are in, there really is no such thing as a wild camel. Some local somwhere owns them even though the camels roam freely, and by freely, I mean freely crossing hwys you are doing 70-80mph on. The ropes are actually only on the females. Hard to see it, but the ropes are just an elaborate way to secure a little canvas bag over the females teets. It keeps the other camels from drinking from the fountain for free. Camel milk is a commodity, and it's A,B,C......Deeeelicous! Not really, most westerners find it taste better coming up then going down.

I'm going to guess Afghan?

Negatron ghost rider! Although there are camels in AFG, and it's almost my second home....this time I'm in the lovely area of Salalah, Oman. And it really is quite beautiful for the middle east!

Sharkey, you are the man! Haha!

I found an Overlander last night at the Hot August Night's cruise I was at.

Even has a rack in the rear.

I'm not sure what exactly he plans on doing without a snorkel, but I saw this rig while mall-crawlin' at Costco today.

Hmmm...

I gotta say, that Ursa Minor tent is actually pretty sweet, very low profile. But I still like soft tops, trek tops, and bikini tops more than that Ursa Minor.

It was actually a clean looking jeep. We had taken the Navi and I did a double take as we walked out. It looked like a Thule track system on top as well.

Still, no snorkel no overlanding...dems da rules.

With a starting price of $5,200, I'd rather put the money toward a good tow behind trailer and have the versatility of still being able to take the top off.
