I've been running the teraflex repezza joint for a while now with no issues due to the original getting torn. No specialty tools were needed when I replaced mine. It does come with a tool for the new Ball head hex bolts but I don't consider that a specialty tool as I already have a set of these.

If you can't get a new driveshaft then buy the teraflex repezza joint. You won't regret it and watch the video they have for the install on YouTube and follow those and you'll be fine.

Also the teraflex allows more driveline angle than the stock but be careful as now the weakest link will be the front driveshaft hitting the exhaust at full drop which will then cause the middle boot to tear. But I have the exhaust extenders so I don't have to worry about this.

How much lift are you running? If you're at 3" or higher it's going to tear again it's only a matter of time. Less lift and you'll probably be ok

LOL!! I realize this might be hard for you to understand being that Teraflex did such a great job on selling you their product but more driveline angle IS what causes the CV boot to fail prematurely. I'll bet they've also got you sold on one of their HD Dana 30's. :cheesy:

97 bucks for the complete kit on Amazon.........here: https://www.amazon.com/Crown-Automotive-528533FRK-Joint-Repair/dp/B00ES4WQYM

maybe worthit until you can afford those new shafts which you definitely will have to do as Eddie wrote.

Only worth it if he "needs" to go off roading. I find it hard to imagine that he couldn't get a free front shaft from a member here - at least, everyone I knew used to give them away.

And I too realize this might be hard for you to understand but WOW, you come off as a total jerk. If you're the owner of this forum then you are the most unprofessional person that should consider being more polite to new forum members. Especially ones who just joined but have had nothing but Jeeps over the last 30 years and perhaps a bigger knowledge and how-to base than you seem to think.

Teraflex didn't "sell" me anything, I actually did my homework. I have not had any issues rock climbing with the teraflex repezza joint in Texas nor Colorado with a 3.5" metalcloak lift. When my stock front driveshaft and Dana 44 completely fails I'll replace it with my Dana 60 I have sitting in my garage. Until then we will just have to agree to disagree.

Despite what you may think excessive driveline angles on a cv joint will cause it to fail. Maybe now but eventually.

Btw, I also have the t flex rzeppa joint (installed properly - not as easy as it seems), love it so far, believe some engineering went into it to make it handle the high angles better with improved boot material and a wider housing to prevent pinching the boot, and will let you all know if it ever fails me.

The only thing the Teraflex rzeppa joint allows your factory front drive shaft to do is droop further. Because it always seems to be missed, THIS IS NOT THE PROBLEM that needs to be address. With a 3" lift or taller, the angle of your drive shaft will be sitting at a steep enough angle to cause the CV boot to be in a CONSTANT STATE OF PINCH. Over time, this constant pinch will CAUSE THE BOOT TO FAIL. Once the boot fails, there is NOTHING TO KEEP THE GREASE INSIDE and that's what causes your BEARINGS TO FRY.

Hmmm maybe it's my aftermarket housing (9 caster pinion separation) or the wider boot on the t flex joint, but mine doesn't seem to be pinched at ride height with 4" of lift in front. Either way great info, thanks, I'll keep a closer eye on that.

Already heard back from a couple of your advertising vendors. This is perfect. You may think this is all funny but I'm after your wallet and not your feelings.

See over 30 years I have spent a few 100k on parts and I have a few accounts with some of your advertising vendors. When I told them I will no longer purchase from them if they continue to advertise on your forum it gets their attention quickly.

You must be liquid as shit to spend a little over $3.3k per year on parts. Go away troll.

Hey Eddie, you're a douche bag and everyone knows it.

I have copied and screenshot everything you said....

Yes I am now deleting the app and logging out.

It's all right here, for everyone to see. What a child, to get so bent out of shape, because everyone doesn't agree with your opinion, on the internet.

Wow. You really are a badass. If I provide a picture of Steven Seagal or Arnold, would you be willing to sign it for me? I may even buy it from one of the vendors that you use. :thumb:

Wow man. Let's suppose any of this is true (highly doubtful). You were offended by something online and now you're going after a man's livelihood? Really? I imagine you think yourself the hero in this situation, saving the next guy from getting his feelings hurt, but that's just not the case. The world is a large, diverse place. I hope you don't go around trying to put out of business every company whose owner you disagree with. A lot of us enjoy spending time here, learn and contribute a lot, and are thankful for wayalife. Now you're going to threaten that over a little spat on driveshafts? I think you need to take a step back, think about priorities in the big picture, and realize you have much better things to do than your current course of action.

Ummm I think I looked through this enough. I am obviously an idiot, as I need someone to point out where Eddie belittled the product he used on his jeep or him. I saw where he pointed out the issues with the product he used.

No specialty tools were needed when I replaced mine.

Did you just have to stare at the hex bolts to tighten them? You have enough specialty tool energy to crack a nut on the Golden Gate Bridge.
