I feel your pain. I took my wife’s JKU in for 1 of the free oil changes and the retards couldn’t remember to put the oil cap back on. Got home and noticed a small oil drip over the next day or so. Pop the hood and oil was sprayed all over the engine bay. Sometimes I think they get these “techs” straight from the unemployment office

That’s frustrating! I hope they made that right!

Thankfully, I’ve only wished my Trucklite headlights were heated twice in the past three years. Freak snowstorm in SE AZ today....

Gonna pull my winch line to dry it out in a few days...

4” at 4300’ today and it’s still snowing. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the high 40’s and sunny. It’ll be mostly gone. I grew up in Indiana and I am glad to not have this for months on end. It’s supposed to be in the 60’s this weekend. Loving the AZ winters!

Today was kinda a big deal for me and Spider. It started off with washing the lower part of the Jeep in preparation for the EVO Rock Skins. That entailed using water from my kitchen sink because my hoses were frozen. Anyway, my day ended with completing the skins and getting my gears as well as a set of ProSteers ordered from Bubba at Exodus Jeeps. I had to use a payment method he doesn’t advertise, but he accommodated me anyway. Thanks again!

Ok, nutserts. They hate me and I hate them! I’ve used them once for my 3rd row seat. For whatever reason I totally sucked at my first skin. I also misdrilled one hole so if someone would look close enough they would notice, but it’s fine otherwise. Two nutserts spun on me which led me to using the dremel.

I had to loosen the actual front metal fender on the passenger side to cut one nutsert off. I discovered 5+ years of sand, dirt and dead bugs in there. Once I saw that I figured if I clean that out occasionally and loosen the skins and pressure wash that I could go without the RTV. So that’s what I did, skipped the RTV.

The drivers side went on like butter. I chased all of the threads with my 1/4-20 tap. That made a huge difference!!!

I started at 9:30 this morning, took a few short breaks and finished at 8pm! [emoji44] I won’t win any speed contests but I learned a lot and love having the protection.

When I arrived home last night these beauties were waiting for me!

I’ll be installing next week.

Today was about turning wrenches on a 2016 JKURHR with a couple of buddies. We installed hockey puck bump stops on all four corners in preparation for 35’s, an EVO HD Leveling Kit and Rugged Ridge Hurricane fender flares. Great times turning wrenches with good friends today!

Our other helper just sold his ‘92 and picked up this very clean ‘03 TJ Sahara. My wife even commented on how nice it was to have so many Jeeps at the house. Just a good day altogether.

Can I wave a magic wand and have my ProSteers install themselves tomorrow? Admittedly I’m a little nervous. I’ve done ball joints once on a Ford Fairmont stationwagon about 27 years ago with my Dad. He’s no longer with us so I’m flying solo. My buddy with the TJ may stop by but he hasn’t done a swap in about the same amount of time, let alone on a JK.

It’s really easy, don’t be afraid.

I have to say it even though others have. The Dynatrac ProSteers are amazing, even in my dirty 30! I’ve had a weird pull that I accepted as radial pull from the Nitto’s pretty much since I put them on in the summer of 2017. No, that wasn’t it. Both of my lower ball joints were completely shot. So much so they could easily be flipped around without any effort once the knuckles were off. After the install I went for about a 5 mile test drive that consisted of highway to unpaved/un-maintained dirt roads. I can tell you without a doubt the ProSteers have greatly improved my handling/steering.

Here are a few shots I took...

Did a side by side for my wife to see

I also checked on the pre-filter sock thing yesterday after running a bunch of errands. It hasn’t budged a bit and I found some larger particles in it. I pulled it off, shook it out and re-installed. Seems to be doing what I hoped it would, all for $10.

Not too bad right! Good job beating the inner demons!

Yep! Thanks! In the end, it wasn’t so bad. Since the axle shafts have never been removed, those were a wrestling match. If I would’ve taken a picture of how I set up the adapters on the drivers side, the passenger side would’ve been even faster.

Yep, plus it’s a little bit of a mind bender to figure out if you need to push up and in or push down and in with the press.
