I looked into it, looks like the advertised travel is a gimmick. The Coilover towers look awkward. But that's just my opinion. If I was going to drop that kind of coin on coilovers I would go with a tried and true setup. EVO.

If you like having a sky high 1980's look with 14" coil overs that only provide 9.5" of vertical travel, this is the kit for you. Seriously, I wouldn't waste your money on it. The minimum height you can set it at is crazy tall and no joke, I've personally measured its travel from a full bump to a full droop and in the rear, it literally was only 9.5". Up front it was a bit more but far from what I would call impressive. Also, in the rear, you either have to have your coils hang down crazy low to the ground and still have it have a shallow angle back exposing it to the rocks or, you would have to cut into your tub to make it work. I personally would recommend the EVO bolt on coil over kit over this or, if you have the funds, get the DTD with EVO Lever. There really is nothing that comes even close.

When I was at their shop I was asking about it and they were raving that it was the only bolt on coilover kit on the market. I said EVO had a bolt on kit and they didn't even respond they said they didn't know and would look into it! I find it hard to believe that they didn't know!

That is funny. Way I understand it was theirs was modeled after EVO.

The reason I probs won't go with evo is based on that everyone here who has them has to get then rebuild to suit our climate terrain I'm not sure if it's true but that's what I am told in saying evo does look a lot better to me. Just looking at the options I have. Can anyone tell me if evo sell there brackets and mounting hardware seperate as I can buy king coils here and get them set up to what I require

I looked into rebel also, besides costing more, I didn't like the rear so much. Their rear bracket requires you to remove your muffler.

I never heard of a shock affected by climate. King already has the shims tuned up for a jk.

Climate absolutely will effect a shock. Being from Michigan. We go from an ultra stiff ride in sub Zero temps to a plush ride in 100*+ temps.

I live in Wyoming and cold makes my shocks a little stiffer till they warm up. I guess if you have access to nitrogen then it's no big deal.

Anyways, call evo to see if they'll sell you the kit minus the shocks. The last time I did the math, it'll be close to $500 bucks without the shocks. Which isn't bad.

You do know that EVO only makes the brackets, right? The coil overs are made by King, same as Rebel. If you have a certain set of requirements, explain them to EVO ahead of time and they should be able to help you get setup with the coil rates you need right from the get go. You make it sound like a downfall but, The BENEFIT of going through EVO is that they work closely with King and can get you whatever it is you want. You have the option of being picky rather than just getting whatever is sold to you.

Try this again, lol. Eddie, do you know if Rebel ever went with their updated bump stops that they claimed they were going to?

:cheesy: Now this makes a bit more sense :D

To the best of my knowledge, no, they have not. But then, I don't see to many guys running their kit anymore. I'm pretty sure the few I had seen last all upgraded to EVO.

Oh, and I should note, I don't think it would have changed a thing as the bump stops they had were there for a reason.

It's seems your weather in Brisbane is very similar to the weather in California where EVO mfg has their King shocks tuned. Not sure I understand the "climate terrain" thing.

Unless they have recently changed their minds, EVO only sells it as a complete kit and not just the brackets.

i have no clue. i see no reason to buy the kit without the shocks either. just giving him an idea of what it would cost.

Is the argument with there lifts or coil overs? Got to look at there company for the first time and seems they run the same shocks...Kings. Not sure where EVO's brackets sit on the frame but I would assume it's closer in than rebals rear setup. I'm not worried about the exhaust since I have the Dynamax low flow. I do not like there 14" setup having to go through the cab.

When coilovers are being used, that is the lift. The coilovers are what is used to set the ride height, or lift, which determines the overall height of the jeep. Rebel's coilovers when adjusted to their lowest possible ride height, still yield what is wide considered a very tall lift by todays standards. Thus the reference by Wayoflife for the 1980's lift look

Would a taller tire, such as a 37 or 40 lessen that 80's looks?
