Mopar spicer Dana 60

So it seems for the same money, you get 2 axles instead of 1....while some will find the need for the dynatracs, Im sure there are many that mopar can target for the front/rear 60s.

As for the rear pro-rock 44 comment, as stated earlier, I'm no expert on axles....aka, I don't really know much. I guess I meant a PR44 and whatever is the lower upgrade dynatrac offers for the rear.

Dynatrac offers their Trail Series as well. You could pair a rear trail 60 with a front PR44 for $11,000(ish). The catch is that (to my knowledge) you can't get the Trail 60 in a full float.

Correct. I have this combo, trail 60 is only in semi float. You can upgrade it to have pr60 housing for a few hundred bucks. You can get this combo for less than 10k depending on how you option it. I got mine from ORE because drew is super helpful and the also got me everything I needed to adapt my bolt on cos. New rocks stars, trackbar brackets etc.

If you want to look up on Web, NR lists the "semi float pro rock 60" (which is essentially a trail60 with pr60 housing) for just under 4900 and the PR44 front is around 4500 depending on options.

I don't understand why a PR 44 and a semi float axle are being compared to the spicer UD60's. Right now everything is up in the air and nobody knows how well these axels are going to hold up. If this set of axles is any bit stronger than a pr44 and trail 60 combo isn't still better to get the spicer axles?

Have you read this thread? Did you not see that I was responding to a question/statement and 13_gecko_rubi was providing futher information....?

Personally I don't think it is. I think the spicer 60's can only be compared to a PR44 and trail 60. I've seen factory axles enough to see the quality isn't there. I'm sure the 60's are no different.

Disagree.:idontknow: While you have seen a lot of factory D30/D44 axles where quality "isn't there", you have not seen a Spicer 60 yet so you basically have no reference to compare it too. Saying that a Spicer 60 axle can only be compared to a PR44 is absurd. I agree that there is no comparison from a PR44 to a factory D44, I have seen them both.

Goat Boy did a great comparison and they are comparable. Yes I would say that the PR60 has better options and is stronger per the specs (on paper) that I have researched. Questions that people need to ask:
Do I take the risk on a new axle that isn't proven in the aftermarket world yet?
Do I need the stronger (per specs) Dynatrac axle?
Can I afford the more expensive axles (like everything else, axles is just the start of a whole lot of other needed parts)?

For me, I'm willing to take the risk.

I'm kinda curious as to why this thread has gained more attention than the Dana 60 ultimate thread WAL started with images from SEMA. I like it better due to that fact that it doesn't have Mopar in the name. It just seems like a better option to me, granted I'm no expert on the subject.

Thoughts?

It's the same axle.

just to clarify, it's made not made by mopar, it's a Dana Spicer axle. They had a few early one's that had a mopar logo diff cover.
I believe that's the only differences. That's my stab at it.

It's the difference between riding on 32" tires or riding on 35's, it's more than the difference between 35's and 37's.
