Anyone regret going to 37s?

IMO this is just a touch too low. You really want at least 3.5" of (actual) lift with 37s. Otherwise you will be driving very close to the required bumpstops. However, can it be done.... Yes.

hinrich did for a bit when he was on his teraflex 2.5". the only thing is since he has a 2 door he yeilded more like 3.25" out of those springs. if you do run that set up you might just need longer bump stops to help prevent rubbing at full flex.

Im running 3" bump extensions because they sent me the taller ones so that may help out a bit. Its obviously not a cheap jump so im trying to sift through what i NEED vs what i WANT....so what about wheel width? i know manufacturers have recommendations, but ive also read on here that a narrower wheel will keep a bead better when aired down. So does/has anybody run 37x12.50 on a factory 17x7.5 wheel? I like the wheels so ive just been running 1.5" spacers.

3" coils are a good size for 37" tires. With a drag link flip your jeep will ride nice

You have 3" bumpstops with 2.5" of lift? That must ride horrible offroad.

Also, unless you have coil spacers, these half sizes really confuse people. They almost always give more lift than advertised. I know sometimes people think that at 2.5" they can get away without a front drive shaft.

Well, let me correct myself a bit, theyre actually 2.75". santa brought them so i figured i could make them work. i actually didnt notice it hitting hard on the bump. Could be that i was going easy on the skinny pedal, or might just be that im new to wheeling jeeps and just dont have anything to compare it to.

Yea i know what u mean. I used eddies write up to measure shock tower compared to stock. Shows exactly 2.5" increase. After our trip this weekend, my biggest issue was diff clearance. Thats what has me inquiring about tires heavily.

That's where you'd get diff clearance.. Good luck on your build.

So after all this great info, I have decided to hold off on making the plunge to 37s. I'm planning either EVO coilovers or DTD in roughly 18mos and I think making the jump to 37s then would be a better time. I hate the idea of gearing my stock 44 axles only to pull them out for PRs in 18mos.

Well see how ole Mauser fairs on the Rubicon this year with 35s. I might be regretting this decision! :)

Thanks again everyone for the input and help! :)

I ran the Rubicon last year on 33s

Don't think I would sweat it with 35s

The 35-37 debate is such a struggle for me. $$$ so can you mount either 12.50 on a factory 7.5" wheel?

You can, but the tire will not wear well and balancing is more difficult.

Also, I have 4" BS with my 37s and rub the frame hard at full stuff and turn. I will be going to 3.5" of BS when I get beadlocks soon. Even with 1.5" spacers the stock wheels will have too much BS to allow full turning.

I just recently got 37s, had 35s for the last two years with my 4 dr. You'll be fine, just watch your lines and watch the guys in front of you where the get caught up.

I just ran the rubicon this last year with the Wayalife group and there were a few of us on 35s. Personally I have a 3" lift and 35s and the only spot that I had trouble was the little sluice and I think if I had more time I probably would have been able to get through it unassisted also. But there is a bypass for that. You'll be fine on 35s just make sure everything is skid plated underneath

Great info! The Protek system and F/R Dynatrac differential covers are sitting in my garage and I plan on ordering the F/R EVO control arm skids as well.

I feel like i have a ton of room under the fenders with them being chopped, which makes my 295s look tiny. But it sounds like with 2.5" of lift, 37s may be too much tire!?! So what size does a guy go with?

Answered you already. I would go with 3". Not sure why you're stuck on the 2.5" number.

Im stuck on 2.5" because thats whats on my jeep. Im not wanting to change lifts so long as this one is performing well. When/if it starts to sag or fail, im thinking 3" plush rides. I am trying to see what options i have as far as tire size increase goes, with the lift/fenders im currently running.

Edit: if i even have any options that would be worth doing.

Got it, tire size. I would spend the money on what you really want. Tires are a big purchase

So 37s with 2.5" lift is what your trying to do? Based on folks who have posted (not my set up) 37s with 3" of lift bottoms out a bit when loaded and driving off-road.

Can it be done with your current set up... Maybe add 3/4 or 1" spacers to your current set up??? This is just a wild guess if your stuck with the 2.5 for a bit.

Hopefully others will chime in with options/recommendations.
