Worst mod you have installed and regretted.

Drake locking hood latches....once in a while it's a bitch to get one to unlock...so in case of a fire or something, good luck getting in

I wish i had purchased the method NV in the beadlock. I intend in upgrading in the future, but wish i just had done it then. Probably should've been on this forum way back before i bought the jeep too. Also regret not getting the bluetooth enabled stereo when i bought my sport. Kinda Wish i had gotten a hardtop as soft tops are much cheaper to come buy. Biggest thing, wish i had gotten a 4 door. Now that i have a kid and two labs, the two door isnt very practical and i hate to try and sell it its what ive put in to it and lose all that.

Rugged Ridge folding mirrors. Impossible to line them up to see anything, then if you blow on them they move. The worst part is they whistle like crazy at 25mph and up. So in recap, they are hard to install, hard to line up, don't work properly, and whistle. Waste of $60.

For me it was exhaust spacers.

Such a pain in the ass to get on. Then when I finally did, ended up needing even more skid spacers than expected lowering my belly clearance. Plus, they didn't even provide enough space if my shocks were fully extended.

At least they were only $50 and I got them off quick. Yay, AFE Y-Pipe! So much better in every way.

I am so with you on this one!

Some door-hinge mirrors (American Outlaw brand). They mount with set screws that took the paint of my hinges and started to rust  Plus they shook so much when driving they were pretty much useless unless you were stopped. The passenger side mirror not being magnified sucked too. Then I dropped one from chest height ONCE and it shattered. $100 piece of shit purchase.

I think my regrettable mod would be going for a red theme for a while on my Anvil Jeep. Haha. I went with a red hi-lift, red CB antenna and red rubicon shocks for a while. Ended up painting both the Hi-Lift and the CB antenna black and swapping out the shocks. And the paint job sucks. I also had eBay light problems as well, went through two light bars and the mounts that I bought didn't line up whatsoever. I've since given up on light bars.

My biggest regret though, not mod, was not getting a 4 door. Grrrr.

Smittybuilt grab handles that mount up in the corners of the windshield.
I went to get in the jeep while out on the trail and needed to use the handle. Well it broke and I went tumbling down the trail. Ended up with a badly sprained ankle.

I bought a cheap one on ebay too. I took it all apart and ran silicone over it. No problems so far. Hope yours works out in the long run.

Yeah I have heard of many people resealing the cheap LED lights they bought and not having any issues. The cheap seal job from the manufacture is the problem.

Everything OEM! Bought a 2015 rubicon and have upgraded everything from the frame down. Should have bought a older sport jku with a good body and scrapped everything but the body and I would have spent a ton less. Oh well, live and learn.

It's not a mod but it was a waste of money. Those stupid neoprene seat covers. They were a couple of hundred dollars and I got the back seat for free. When they were faded, they looked like crap. I refuse to put them on my second Jeep but now looking for a better seat cover. Ideals welcome or just buy cheap ones and let them wear out. I could have purchased 4 pairs of cheap one that equaled what I paid for that first pair.

Trek Armour seat covers, Ive had them on for years now with zero fade...their $$ but damn good...mine are black..

Oddly enough - my wife got me a set of these for Christmas; just went outside to put them on and the pins are seized in! They looked like they had sat on the shelf for a while, as the print looked a little faded. Tried everything I could, short of anything that would have left apparent damage to them, and they weren't budging.

So back they go :grayno:
