Just patched it. Turned out well.

Start by cleaning around the hole or tear

Cut a square

Round the corners and peel it off
IMG_20161223_094023.jpg

Apply to fabric

We'll see how it holds up long term but looks solid.

With spring coming, it's time to get this thread going again. Picked up a new weapon light but I like it so much it's going in the Jeep and I'll get a second for my rifle.

Streamlight Protac HL - 700 lumens $70 at Scheel's and it is crazy bright.

I never leave for a trip without the most important piece of equipment 20161231_084724.jpg 20161231_085041.jpg 20161231_084804.jpg

Has a carry handle and all! I even took the time to stain and seal the wood frame. I went with a dark stain to cover up any ass spackle. Total cost, under $20. Try to find that quality of a crapper anywhere online.

So once you take a crap in the bucket, then what do you do? Wash it out in the creek? Big time no-no. Bring it with you? Big time gross

Lol. I've seen ones at survival/outdoors shows that you put a heavy duty liner in and take it with you when you're done.

Well, in nature you would dig a hole, squat, and proceed with business. When all is done, bury your hole, and if so inclined place a burial marker since it carries your DNA.

Since I care about the environment, I go to Whole Foods or Lassens Market (both in San Luis Obispo) and purchase biodegradable bags. I line the bucket with bag, place a small amount of dirt in the bag, and do my stuff. I of course use motor home style toilet paper that disintegrates. I dig a deep hole and bury.

Over time, the bag, toilet paper, and butt mud turn back into earth.

Or, take immodium AD and Pepto for the length of the trip and never worry about any of the above.

Yeah, that's only got to get a hole in it once before I'm going back to pooping in the woods. I'll stick to digging a hole for now I think.

Been using the tall kitchen bags for years with no problems. Double up if you're concerned. Unless you are eating light bulbs to impress the women folk, the kitchen bags will be fine!
