Winch for JKUR HR

Rugged Ridge also has a winch plate designed for the HR bumper. At about $200 it's a cheaper option, but has performed great for me. It mounts behind the front of the frame horns as well as the top, and it even has a built in vacuum pump relocation bracket. Sorry, I'll have to double check the steel thickness. I have it holding my DV8 12k winch. No complaints on either.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know RR had a mount for the HR. I will look into that one as well.

I've decided on a Warn...no doubt. I have pretty much made my mind up on a Zeon-10s. But the M8000s would be. Ice as well. Just not sure it's the best choice for me with a loaded JKUR.
Just want to nail down the mounting plate because I will have to order it. I'd like to know if either one is as good as the other or if one is better.

Go with the zeon 10. The 4 doors are some heavy girls. At least that's what I call my wife's ha.

I had a hard rock bumper and did a lot of research regarding the winches. The two I would consider are the zeon 10s and 9.5cti-s.

The difference on the hard rock bumper depends on what look u are going for.
The 9.5 sits higher than the zeon, particularly on the mopar which mount. The Maximus 3 mount is good but it's tucked in the bumper more. I preferred the higher sitting mopar mount due to its higher sitting position. Also the gloss finish on the 9.5 looks better in my opinion. The zeon is nice symmetric winch but u can't see much when it sits in the HR bumper because it sits real low.
Hope this helps

The 10 is the usually considered the go to weight rating for JKU's the 8 is common on the 2 door. As far as the side pull on the Rock Hard plate, I've never heard any complaints about that. Even in a side pull, the rope is coming more or less straight in. The part of the rope to the side would be rubbing on the fairlead, then straight in to the winch.

I have seen that one on line. Is there any issues with the slots instead of holes? Could the winch possible move side to side in an angled pull?

Thanks for the PM earlier! No issue with the slotted holes. We do that to accomodate center and side spool winches in the tight confines of a JK front end in our lowered winch plate bumpers. The same pattern carriers over to our RH-5017 HardRock winch plate.

Thanks, with the Zeon, my only real concern is how low it sits in the bumper that you can't see the line spool very well. But I haven't read of any issues yet. Would like to hear if anyone has had issues with this.

Congrats! Always best to get quality and cry once. That Zeon 10-s is no joke. It'll be with you for the life of the Jeep and then some.

I feel the same. Buy once, cry once. Wanted to buy a winch that has a great reputation and would be around for a long time. Looking forward to adding to the Jeep.
