I always try to stop at Mo's! Great chowder!

The cheese factory in Tillamook is a good stop as well.

On the east side make sure you hit up Deschutes brewery in Bend.

This next one is about my favorite spot in Oregon.

It is out in the middle of nowhere. Closest town is Silver Lake.

It is called "Cowboy Dinner Tree". Check it out.

Reservations required. Cash only. Come hungry! They serve a 25-30 oz sirloin steak!

Cool pics Pete! :thumb: Does it stay green there through the year? (besides the pine trees) What was the bunker used for?

It stays so green here. Trees are full of moss and lichen. Absolutely beautiful with the lower story plants like ferns I will post some more pics! There were several structures in the park. Some had gun turrets above with housing below.

Fort Stevens was an American military installation that guarded the mouth of the Columbia River in the state of Oregon. Built near the end of the American Civil War, it was named for a slain Civil War general and former Washington Territory governor, Isaac Stevens. Wikipedia

Where in Oregon are you at?

I am in Eugene. Other than housing prices I love the location. I can go either way to hit something. I got a shit ton of more pics to post. October and last month as well. Amazing things to see out here.

Some more pics of our trip in July. I do not know why my pics do not upload in order. These are a few of the fort with their tour truck and Tillamook. Oh yes that is the only cheese I eat now.

Light house heading down the coast to Coos Bay. Mediocre seafood with a nice view of people clamming. Roadside attraction Charlie Tuna. Beautiful coast and more to come...

Looks like a great state! Love seeing from others what it's like throughout the various states instead of just what is seen from the media.
