Clear Lake. Stunningly beautiful with cabins to rent.

"Clear Lake has a long history of being a popular recreation spot in the high Cascades. It was discovered in 1859 by a party of men who were searching for a route over the Cascade Mountains. They had followed an Indian trail down Hackleman Creek and after con*siderable scouting found Fish Lake and then Clear Lake. Clear Lake is about 142 acres in size and lies at an elevation of 3,012 feet, with a maximum depth of 175 feet. It is one of the clearest and coldest lakes in the Cascades."

Spied a small waterfall that apparently several people have drown there getting stuck in the crevices. Very small, it's crazy that so many has died here. Can't remember the name. Respect nature!

Those pics are exactly how I've always pictured the PNW. I know there's a lot more as you've already shown, but I love that pine forest & lake scenery!

Great pics, Pete. Looks like you've been busier than a stripper on nickel night.

Yes me too! When we went up to Clear Lake the other Hwy going over the Cascades were closed due to snow. This was a few weeks ago.

I always try to stop at Mo's! Great chowder!

The cheese factory in Tillamook is a good stop as well.

On the east side make sure you hit up Deschutes brewery in Bend.

This next one is about my favorite spot in Oregon.

It is out in the middle of nowhere. Closest town is Silver Lake.

It is called "Cowboy Dinner Tree". Check it out.

Reservations required. Cash only. Come hungry! They serve a 25-30 oz sirloin steak!

Ok my phone is so fucked up with a crack in the lens. So I got some shitty pics and need to go back out. Sorry about that. Just a few shots of the dunes and the beach as well. Look at the map and it will say "you are here". There are several beach areas and we were at the top at Florence sand dunes....there is a Mo's in town too! I am putting up a video I found before we went. We stopped there for a little bit and we went on to hunt agates at another beach. I took a pic of the bridge you cross in Florence and the dunes can be seen from there. Found a nice water fall, some structures along the way. We Stopped at a covered bridge and the Umpqua lighthouse again...and came across a herd of basset's!!!

It would be a nice road trip in a new JL! This time drive through NE!!!!

It would be epic!

I'm beginning to thing that it's Colorado that doesn't like me. Two out if three trips through routed through that damn state ended up as shit-shows. Not giving up though.
Next time I may sneak up on it by going through Kansas again - no one goes through that boring fucker :icon_crazy:

We have family there. Kansas is so boring, we've actually agreed that it feels like we get to their house faster when we drive at night. That's how boring it is. Total darkness is more comforting than driving through that place in total daylight.
