5 years is a long time, in vehicle prices.

Yea but $35k for top model and $42 for base model is quite a difference even for 4-5 years...base model when I bought my 2007 was like $21-&22k, base when I bought my Rubicon was only $24-25k that was 6 years later lol $17000 increase in 5 years is a lot no matter how you look at it lmao [emoji16]

No need to guess, and the price differences are not NEARLY what everyone is saying. AT MOST, the price difference is $2750, not counting the diesel.

2-Door (JK / JL / Difference)
Sport - $23,995 / $26,195 / $2,200
Sport S - $26,995 / $29,095 / $2,100
Sahara - $30,445 / N/A
Rubicon - $33,645 / $36,395 / $2,750

4 - Door (JKU/JLU/Difference)
Sport - $27,895 / $29,995 / $2,100
Sport S - $31,095 / $33,195 / $2,100
Sahara - $34,295 / $36,995 / $2,700
Rubicon - $37,445 / $40,195 / $2,750

The 8 speed is a $2000 option on the 2.0 (don't know about the 3.6, mandatory on the 3.0)
The pentastar is a $3500 option
The diesel is probably going to be a $6500 option from the 2.0 (based on the upcharge on the grand cherokee, and the mandatory 8 speed.)

Honestly, you probably made the right decision to hold off. Now that I've seen the JL up close and know what options are available and what colors too, I almost wish I had waited too..... almost.

LOL!! Moby was a fully loaded JK Rubicon Unlimited back in 2007 and I only paid $29k for it. It's all about supply and demand and there's a high demand for Wranglers. FCA charges what they do because they know they will get it.

I ordered both my JK's from factory. If your dealer gave you a VON number, you should be able to check the status. From what an insider has said, an order can be changed/cancelled so long as it is not in D1 status. Also, if you are cool with the dealer, even if it is in D1, if you ordered something they can easily sell, they can just take your current order as dealer stock and order you another one.

Lol, same thing happened when I went to the local dealer. Because of all the uncertainty we chose NOT to go through with the order.

The only thing they told me for certain was they had ordered some trim packages for their inventory that were pretty much in-line with the JK packages and they would probably be there sometime after the LA auto show.

I agree that after seeing all the options I’m glad we didn’t commit to it yet.

This is pretty much the same boat I'm in. Trying to wait till just a little more is made "public."

Don't know if I'd stand behind those exact numbers as being fact but according to my sources, the JL is expected to be about $2k higher in price than a comparable JK.

LOL!! I know I may seem like a rookie around here but this isn't exactly my first rodeo. I do appreciate you thinking about me though :yup:

I didnt mean it to come off that way, if It did my apologies. :thumb:

Agree with the 2k-ish price hike. From what I see, the price jump seems warranted.

Wow. Of all the options listed $2k for an auto seems outta whack. Still, you could get a JLUR for close to $45k if you watched your options or wanted a plain Rubicon to start a build with.

Yep. I would have been more than happy with a 6-speed and in a lot of ways, would have preferred it but the 8-speed auto sounds really promising and really, this is what most people will go with. It'll also help keep the resale value a lot higher too. But you could definitely get going in a JL Rubicon for less.

Made a decision on what the first mod will be?

LOL!! I think I'm gonna need to wheel it a bit first to know for sure. That being said, it'd be hard keep it stock any longer that I need it to be and I can't imagine running it on anything less than 37's. If I can somehow get it up on 40's, that's where I'd like it to be. :yup:
