CFB...Tis A New Season

Par for the course. Another disappointment. There is no other team in any other conference that can stand toe to toe with Alabama. This year will be 100% lopsided if UGA doesn’t get in. I’ll eat crow after the natty if I’m wrong, but I’m 99% sure no other playoff contender will even make an enjoyable game to watch.

Clemson will...

Today is a great day! Both mine and my wife’s alma maters won their conference championships.

UAB and Alabama. Great games by both!

Would be an interesting household if one of you went to Auburn instead of UAB...I knew a couple like that years ago....they're divorced now...

Clemson will...

Whenever you wish to cook the crow pie, I will be happy to come eat it with you. No team will come as close to Alabama as UGA did. Can’t wait for a Clemson Alabama match up. It will be as interesting as watching paint dry. The SEC is superior and it was proven tonight.

I think that there is an outside chance that Georgia gets in at the 4th spot since their schedule was much more difficult than Oklahoma...and I think Bama would rather play Oklahoma in the playoffs...

If Georgia gets in over Oklahoma, after LOSING their game, even if it was close, something is definitely wrong with the system.

Defense or not, Oklahoma lost one game, by 3 points.
Ohio State got blown out, by Purdue, and nearly a couple more times if not for pulling it out at the end.
Also, what was Georgia's non conference schedule again......

No 2 loss teams in the playoffs

I agree Georgia is probably the second or 3rd best team in the country, but no 2 loss team should be in with 4 undefeated and 2- 1 loss teams. Gotta win your games during the season if your not going to be a conference champ in my opinion. I do agree the SEC has the best conference, however you could argue that they are just top heavy, and other conferences are deeper. I think all the good teams in that conference play around the level of everyone else in the nation but Alabama is that much better. What was the stat list night? Tua has only thrown like 5 passes in the 4th quarter all season? And Georgia played a damn near perfect game, while bama really struggled in the first half- partial credit to GA cause that could have been an ugly score at half with so many bama drop balls and interceptions- which haven't happened all season

Bama would definitely rather play OK, and that's not a knock on OK either, they are damn good.

Agree, no 2 loss team with everything that's it there.

Oklahoma only played three games against ranked opponents (twice against Texas)...Georgia played six games against ranked opponents...

If you go on record only, then UFC should be in...if you go on strength of schedule, then Georgia should be in...

It is what it is. I really think that this year’s natty is going to be lopsided. I hope not, but Alabama is just on another level.

You could tell UGA practiced for Tua. Jalen coming in was probably the worst thing that could have happened.

So many different arguments that could apply in different ways for each team when it's convenient, everyone one has issues with their resume except bama. I think itll be Alabama. Clemson, ND, and Oklahoma. but one thing we know is that pretty much every year the committee has changed what they put the most weight on, but they have done a pretty good job at getting the 4 best teams in, so maybe it will be Georgia, but my opinion is they don't belong with 2 losses. Playing close in a loss or a win shouldn't really matter, win is a win, loss is a loss. Will be interesting to see

Devil’s advocate here, ND doesn’t have to play in a conference championship. Thoughts on forcing them to play in a conference championship so that they have the potential of picking up another loss?

I'm thinking that if they didn't go undefeated and had one loss at the end of the season, Ohio St would be in with Oklahoma...even though they have one loss as well...

Besides, who would they play?...there are so few independent teams, they would have rolled over BYU or Navy...

I agree, always a knock on their resume but it never seems to matter if they are actually undefeated. Never been a Notre Dame fan, and honestly have always rooted against them. Now a close friend is on their coaching staff so I'm glad everything has worked out for them this season .
