Well that explains why the cat lady next door is attracting Critters that I don't want around

Well here we go. His new entrance/exit. Didn't want to do ground anchors so chained to a tree. Spiked down the chain in two spots to hopefully decrease the catch circle. Blocked off a couple potential openings with dead bamboo.



And put DPs out. And littered the clearing with dog food, cat food, and turkey scraps. And just because I'm a dick, he got ducked.

Lucked out too. All DPs are on camera. Just a coincidence. Keeps me from walking up on a skunk by surprise. I chose not to hang them higher. The more I thought about it, if I caught a coon or possum, they'd be hanging there all night pretty uncomfortable.

We'll see. A lot of lures are made from skunk funk. He hasn't appeared on camera in a couple of nights but they're actively there. Loud howling several times in the night. It's breeding season so they probably got a room. Hopefully they'll be pacing again soon.

Just for kicks I took some pics when checking traps this morning. Just one rain washed off the dirt last night on nearly every one. They're right at surface level.

No kidding. Can't do shit with the mud. If I have to remake in mud I add peat moss. It helps but not perfect. I also throw some a few feet around the trap too so there's not a sudden change of smell right at the trap.

I set this out in daylight to thin the cat population and caught this Masked Bandit. He’s just a little guy and made no fuss at all. I guess the cat food was too much of a temptation
