Evo bolt on coilover install

Anyone know what these are? They weren't I'm the instructions and have no idea what they are.

Two bolts w/ nuts and two brackets? What do I win? :cheesy:

The 2 pieces above are cradles that get welded onto the frame or, in the case of your kit, to the back of the front coil over towers and you strap on the remote reservoirs to them. Assuming your towers came with these welded on out of the box, these are just extras that found their way into the packaging. The bolts, I not sure of - maybe just found their way in the box by mistake too.

Yeah now that you mention it they do look like the pieces welded to the front tower. Thx for that, I'm hoping the bolts are extras too considering I don't have any extra parts laying around and everything I'd bolted together

I just got a UPS notice that 428 lbs of bolt on coil over + high clearance long arm stuff shipped from EVO today!

Let the adventure begin...

Thanks Eddie! Got a question about sequence. I was planning the following order (the jeep will be on a lift):
  1. Dissasemble suspension
  2. Weld on c-gussets
  3. Install new axle shafts
  4. Install 1350 front drive shaft
  5. Install front top mounts
  6. Install front arms
  7. Install front bottom shock mounts
  8. Install drag link flip kit
  9. Bolt up and finish front end w/ Protek skid
  10. Install rear long arm mounts & arms
  11. Install rear upper and lower shock mounts
  12. Connect up rear
  13. Trim pinch seams
Does that seem about the right order? I know at some point I will have to cut out the exhaust "bugle" and flip it. Hopefully I can do the gussets, DS and axles in one day. Then tackle the rest of the suspension in about a week in the evenings and weekend.

That's quite the project! If I had a lift, and a nice MIG, and a second car, I may have tried to tackle my long arm suspension myself... Although it was kinda nice having someone else stress over an EVO install! Haha, good luck!

Yup, sounds about right but, I might hold off on the front drive shaft till the end, just to give you more room to work on the other stuff. I would also address your exhaust loop before you start installing your new long arm mounts as that'll give you more room to work with as well. Otherwise, I think you've got a handle on things :thumb:

Well I'm not a welder, but a friend does a lot of the local race cars around here. I will get things tacked in place and have him come in and do the welds. I'm nervous about the rear but the front looks pretty straight forward.

It took my friend and I 5 days to install the coilovers.

The front is a lot hard to install then the rear.

I end it up with up grading to a long arm.

Had a good time installing it with my friend. Ending helping him install his coilovers 4 days later.

Man I would've done the fronts for you guys and you guys could've done the rears for me, the front was a piece of cake!
