Mopar 2 inch lift with driveshaft

Can I get thoughts? Advice?

Should I instal front 2 inch bump stops or leave them off and just trim fenders flat? I know rear 2 inch bumps are required either way but I've read Planman and Dirtman have said if I trim fenders flat I can skip the front bumps and get a bit more travel. Decisions decisions. Worried trimmed fenders are gonna flap a lot at highway speeds. Thoughts?

I chopped my flares a while back and have never experienced "flapping".

Eaton e locker installed on front axel. Works great. Tested it out and man it grabs. What a difference over open diff. Kept my command trac rear. With locker up front I love the combo.

Can't wait to get the new shoes mounted up. You can see them waiting patiently back there.

Great to hear. I would really prefer to chop them and maintain more travel. I'll check out pics of your Jeep and see how you chopped them. Not sure on the look I want yet.

35s mounted. Ride is smooth. Aired down to 25 psi gives me good tread contact. Shop had some trouble balancing them. Nobody does road force balancing near me. Had to take rock rails off as the were danger close to.tread on new shoes.

Having some issues with gear job. Taking back to shop to check back lash next week. Hearing a single click in first and second gear in front axle when accelerating.

I know I need to see those 35's mounted up! Hope the gears are ok!

Edit: I'm blind today. Saw the pic...looks great!

Thanks man. me too. Strange. Very soft single "clunk" if I get on the peddle a bit from a stop or while gassing it in second. No clunks in third or up. Shop said they'd make it right but I'm 99% certain it's in front axle. When I get under jeep I can move the front yoke by hand clockwise and counterclockwise about 1/2 inch and if I do it hard it "clunks". the rear won't budge at all. No play. From what I read this could be excessive backlash in the gears if there is a clunk sound our too much movement in front axle yoke flange.

Won't be long now.

Thanks! Had to drive very easy since no lift is installed yet. I rub in sharp turns with lots of body lean in corners. I rub going over large dips that really cycle the suspension with lots of flex. So I'm driving slow and easy. Bump stops extensions going on tomorrow to try to help protect fenders. I start work on the actual lift next week. My friend at JD Offroad has a neighborhood garage fully decked out with tools. He's gonna let me use his facility to complete my own install.

Thanks to my buddy Darrel at Jd off-road. 100 degrees in garage. 3 hours of free labor. And he did 90% of the work. Lift rides better then stock without the control arm drop brackets and no we did not install the included cam bolts. Threw those in garbage. Netted 3 inches of lift. Will settle to 2.5 over the next week. New mopar cv drive shaft gives plenty of exhaust clearance. Stunned at how plush the ride is. More controlled, faster over bumps. My recovery gear used to rattle every time I crossed our railroad tracks. No more rattle from the gear. That is how soft the mopar 2 inch lift with fox shocks are vs the rubicon shocks and springs I had prior. Love this lift. It's more like 3 inches. It levels the rake. And Ride quality is a 10 out of 10. Rides far better than I expected. (Even without ca drop brackets). 25 psi in tires. Rides like on air. Amazing. Can't recommend this lift enough.

Just finished driving it on some trails. Rides awesome. Controlled. Yet soft at speed to soak up rough stuff. Handled drops well. Love it on road and off. Pictures to come. I couldn't snap picks during lift install oR on our trail ride as my phone was left at home by accident in my excitement to get to his shop today to get this lift on. But I will post lift pics soon as I get home.

Some more pics. The pictures suck but the ride quality is fantastic. I highly recommend the lift. 4 hours to install lift counting the mopar axle shaft I installed last week. I have to trim the rock rails later today.

This completes my build. Just need to get the backlash on the front gears sorted out next week and it should be good.
