Picked this up yesterday for our youngest daughter who plays violin...very well...thought we would broaden her horizons with an electric mandolin, which is tuned the same as a violin...
This is not a classic 8 string (4 pairs) mandolin, but when I saw it, it reminded me of an old Gibson Thunderbird...hope she likes it...if not, I'm going to learn how to play it...

My first guitar was an old Firebird 7 (before they called 'em reverse bodied) same tobacco sunburst. You just sparked some great memories.

I got the pickups wire kit and all the clear coat and stain over the weekend so now I'm ready to do the final steps
almost there!! 
oh also crowned all the frets and rounded over my nut.

Weird coincidence that I was changing strings out on one and this is the first thread that pops up when I open the app! Here are a few jacksons, Kramer, and ibanez I have. Have a Nikki Sixx bass and a dean razorback sitting in cases. Best things to spend money on!

Got my friends guitar down to bare wood and stained my guitar. Now just trying to blend the color to even it out. I did 2 stains on the top a dark stain then sanded it down and put a light stain on. Trying to get a pop. Just hard to make it blend nice. It looks a little dull in the pics but after the clear on it's going to look really nice.
