I've kicked it around a few time but haven't done it. Always seems like any other insurance and extended warranty, great to have when/if you need it but a waste of money if you don't. With the cost of some of these tires, it's almost where if you have one claim your back to even. That said, seeing how tough the Nitto's have been, I'll probably take my chances, of course after saying that, I'll have two flats on my drive home tonight.

Nitto and Discount both awesome have awesome customer service though!

I didn't get them on my last jeep. I'll probably chance it and skip it again. Need to order tires soon. Getting close...

Installed oil pan and transmission skids while doing the oil change on the white jeep. Just need to order the crossmember skid for it. Glad I did the oil pan, some bolts on the pan were loose. Came like that from the factory. And I mean didn't need a wrench loose

How'd you do with the transmission skid install? The instructions weren't very clear about how the skid mounted on the transmission mount studs. Any tricks to impart?

I just unbolt The bolts on both sides, Jack up the tranny a little, maybe ½". Just enough to slide the skid in. Then the drivers side hole lines up and lower the Jack. Passengers side is easy. But make sure the drives drivers side hole is lined up.

This may seem simple to some, but someone might benefit from this. To set up evo links, they have a left and right threaded joints. Put your jamb nuts all the way then screw in the joints all the way into the links. Basically to the lowest setting. When you put them on your jeep, you turn the hex bar to adjust and ensure even threads in both ends. They don't include instructions, but it's pretty easy.

I'm still undecided on the certificate. Sucks is the closest discount tire store is 150 miles away.

If it's worth it to you for piece of mind go for it. That being said I've never had to not do I know anyone that has ever had to replace a tire due to failure. Other than going bald of course. I worked at in tire sales years ago and that was always a fluff for us to get more profit. Most tires will come with basic road hazard warranty and any reputable company will honor a prorate warranty if a tire fails.

so does a guy have to take the tire to a store or ship it off? sucks living in the middle of nowhere.

Store manager can make the call to have it shipped. Talk to the discount nearest you and find out. I worked on an island so that wasn't an issue lol.

I needed front bump stops, so I tried to get creative. I know I needed at least 3" up front for the drag link flip. And trying to think of our other jeep I decided to try metalcloak. Maybe I could use the extra 1"spacer later on. Well, I got them in and was I surprised! I basically got 8 hockey pucks. I could have went on Amazon and got a case for cheaper. First and last mc product I'll ever buy from them. I really tried to give them a shot, but really, nothing but Fucking hockey pucks. Oh well, live and learn.

Nah dog, they got a hole in the middle... which cost money to drill, so yes we upped the price by 1000%. :cheesy:

this is the thing that gets me, i've seen people suggest hockey pucks before. then people respond that they don't want a cheap fix or jerry rigged shit on their jeep. then the next breath they claim MC is top of the line shit.
i'm willing to give any company a look, but i've seen nothing and i mean nothing special about MC. I don't care for their fanboys either.
i think my rant is winding down finally.

Lol. Well if it makes you feel any better. This is an enlightening discussion... and if the lift kit I get doesn't have bump stops, I'll probably get hockey pucks and some stout hardware. :yup:
