ATX Slabs: Lets see them!

Yes, that was EVO1's old stock dash in 2010, customized on the passenger side for the Lowrance Chart Plotter/GPS. This was done for the first year it was raced in the King Of The Hammers.

Niiiice, at first I thought you had a cisco phone in the dash....... ok I need to get out of the office more

I'm going to revive this old thread. So for the guys that have the slabs, do any of you run spacers? I know that it will add stress but I rub on passenger side shocks at compression an a little turn. So dilemma is run spacers with added stress or rub on my triple bypass? What would you do?

I think i would cry if i looked under and saw that. I'm running just CO and have spacers on mine. Granted not Slabs but it would take the slightest hint of that and I would have spacers overnighted.

I hear. I might have said a curse word or two! But I have spacers and new King stickers but is the added stress on axle components better or worse than some rubbing on the Kings. I know that if something happens to the shocks I can make it home but if the added stress blows a unit bearing, ball joints or something I might be walking.

I had run 1.5" spacers with my slabs. A bit more wear on joints etc but it will be fine. Just have to be a little bit more aware of brake calipers being exposed.

I didn't think about the brakes being exposed. Thanks for that. If i have the Slabs and spacers on and something wears out or breaks and I'm not on the trail I think the repair of that is cheaper than ripping the compression adjustment off of my triple bypass. I'm just trying to make these d44s last about a year till I have enough saved up for the 60/80 combo, 40s, and new 8 lug slabs.

Ordered slabs and should be in next week. I like the black look and plan to paint the rock rings but have a question. Should I paint the entire ring or just the visible side? Would painting the inside impact the seal with the tire?

The paint on the inside of the ring won't affect the seal. I only painted what was visible because I used touch up paint which wasn't exactly cheap so it's really just your preference.

I only painted the visible side as well. Mostly because it was easier, and I didn't see a reason to paint the inside. Love the look!

Those look awesome. What paint brand and color did you use?

Thanks! I used VHT graphite and I think Duplicolor matte clear (I'll have to check the extra can I bought). The 1st time I painted them, I didn't use a clear coat. Between cleaners and mud they stained pretty easily.

Congrats on the Slabs, you'll really like them!

I just got w set and all ready for air.

Anybody know if an ARB twin air compressor can generate enough pressure to set the bead??
