Jdofmemi and the yet unnamed Jeep rebuild

Front or rear axle?

That’s what I’m wondering. The rear was bit fussy on how much fluid it liked. If you fill it all the way up so that it came out the full hole, it would push out the vent. I believe that I used to put 2.6 quarts in and that seem to work. About 1/2” below the fill hole lip.

Rear, and it seems you are on it. I left it low at first, mainly because of the angle it was sitting at when I filled it. It just got two quarts, then the other day, while prepping for the trip, I topped it off.

I will drain some out and see if it behaves itself.

To get home, I unhooked the rear hose from the breather and shoved it in the frame hole for safe keeping. It will still make a mess, but at least its not dripping on the catalytic converter anymore.

Glad it's a simple problem 👍

You ran the rear breather all the way up to the front engine bay? That’s a long way! And that’s a lot of fluid to go that far. Routing up behind the taillight is quick and easy but you’re already done so... [emoji1303]

Part of why I did is the ARB breather kit, to combine everything, and I figured by running it that far, even if it burped a bit it would never get clear to the front and as high as the hood.

Well, once again, I was wrong about that.

I may re do it to the taillight, but not anytime soon.

Does the arb kit combine everything into one? Don’t think I’ve ever seen it in person. The good thing about the taillight area is it can’t really drip on anything. Makes for a mess behind the taillight if you ever need to work back there though lol

It has four ports, so you can combine everything into one. It is the same filter as the compressor has.

Since the trans is already on top of the engine, no need to change that. I haven't seen where the transfer case goes.

I think the rear end is going back to the taillight when I get time.

I could be wrong but I thought the transfer case was down on the it or right by it.

Took the Jeep for a bath last night, at least I can start the trip clean.

I got in this morning to the tire store and had the tires balanced, since I've had a shimmy at around 45-50.
One tire only needed 2 oz, the rest 7,9,9, and 10.

Coming home from there was a much improved ride😁

I also gave the winch a small workout pulling a track back onto my skid steer after it fell off the rollers.

Now to get packed up and on the road

I'm now in fuel saving mode

These pulleys work better when the little ball bearings are still inside.
