Not sure they don't contradict themselves in there statement.

Edit: let me know if there is a better way to post this stuff or if you don't want it posted. I want it to be a true unedited track of what happened and hope WOL does as well. I just know that Eddie won't remove, edit or delete this thread. It needs to stand as a record of what this scammer is doing

LOL...I don't think their timing was poor...I think their timing was pretty damn deliberate. I'm not the greatest at math, but 1+1 still doesn't add up in this case and I think anyone can figure out the bullshit, should they choose to.

Eddie...Asia and I met you/Cindy at Mel's 40th birthday and we thought you both were amazing people. It's refreshing to know there are still people who value honesty and integrity .

50+ pages.... well, plus 2 cups of coffee and here we are. WTF is it with this dude!? I mean, really, how in the hell can JCR and JKF STILL support him even if they "know he's a good guy"? Instead of covering shit up and deleting his entire internet-life, why not say "we fucked this one up, we're ceasing all 'fund-raising' til we get our shit together?" That would say so much more about the companies they run than just sticking up for the "victim."

Eddie and the other mods, you ban hammering jerks hurt a LOT of peoples feelings over there!! I hope you can't sleep at night! :cheesy:
I'm a pretty active lurker, and I've seen a few "ban-ashings" happen, and not ONE was a stand up guy with the best of intentions... All of them were coming in with guns blazing up in roar over something they knew very little about.

What's next?? I wanna see his bad ass jeep!! ...well, and some proof that he's not a total scam....:thumb:

Thank you. We really do appreciate you being able to see things for what they really are and for your support.

At this point, I think they feel they have to keep supporting him. The alternative would be to admit they made a mistake and clearly, their pride is more important to them than things like honesty and integrity.

Well, I'm glad that you've been here long enough to see the truth with your own eyes instead of just listening to the stories that the haters tell. :yup:

Well, there used to be a video but, he's since blocked it. :naw:

I've read through this entire thread, poked around some on the other forums. I think there are a couple things worth mentioning that aren't as popular of conversation points as I would have thought they would have been.

full disclosure, I am new here. I have posted a lot on other forums mainly JF and WF for technical items as well as trail information, descriptions, write-ups etc, I am just very recently tuning into this forum...

If you, for just a second, took this particular man out of the equation and looked purely at the following request:

1) asking for $4000 to be raised to paint the jeep in question.

now add in the following information that appears to have been provided by him:

- we raised $421 for a military related charity at one event.

NOW,

I know that I would have a lot of trouble sleeping at night, if I asked someone to pay almost TEN TIMES what the vehicle "brought in" (that's putting it nicely) at an entire charity event, simply to maintain it, on the premise that "i couldn't afford it," when i had a 92" flat panel at home.

Also, I have been at wheeling events, rather large ones (to me, ie 300 jeeps) and there was 4wheel2heal there and they weren't just parking a jeep at the event with a logo on it to "raise awareness" for "other charities" rather they WERE their own charity and they WERE giving rides to vets.

my question here is, where is this jeep in question raising awareness? by their own admission, it seems to me they go and piggy back other charities at events and sort of hover the vehicle around them to bring, i am assuming, people over to the tent/table? all this under the guise of being the ones responsible for raising money? by their own recent "lets clear the air' admission they are NOT a charity... so what is the purpose then? To me a jeep like this would raise awareness on the road when it is driving by you in this way: you would look at it and read the words on it.... however parking it at another charity's tent at an event seems... not super helpful at best. not to say it's completely unhelpful, but is it 4k-paint-job-on-donations-level-helpful? is any item worth 4k of donations that could have gone to help people?

Also given the concept that any man's immediate family member would pipe up in their defense by, of all things, professing that they "don't know where all the money goes," I think that says a lot right there if someone that close to you is openly saying that.

I have a little bit of experience with vinyl wraps, to the tune of seeing them progress through their lifespan many times on many vehicles, and I can say that it is a lot longer than two years, and that is in a place with a decent amount of snow/salt exposure.

I just think there is an argument in favor of this type of situation being sketchy, at a very basic level.

From his Q&A:

"Q: Are you going to report your sponsor items for the Jeep on your taxes?

A: No, and we are not required by law to do so. We make it clear to all of our sponsors that we are not a charity and always have before they choose to become a sponsor. We offer the value to our sponsors of promoting their products to the community so the items we receive are not considered gifts."

He just doesn't get it. The items for his Jeep are a form of income. It's nice though that he readily admits to withholding information from the IRS about sources of income.

If I do work for someone and they pay me with a car instead of cash, I have to report the car as income and assign an appropriate cash value to it.

Edit: this is from the IRS regarding bartering: (http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc420.html)

"Bartering occurs when you exchange goods or services without exchanging money. An example of bartering is a plumber exchanging plumbing services for the dental services of a dentist. You must include in gross income in the year of receipt the fair market value of goods or services received from bartering."

But his Jeep bring "awareness" to "smaller unknown troop charities" - ones that are so small, he can't even list on his website. I mean, that must count for something?? :cheesy:

Yep, you pretty much summed it up and yet, there are still people eagerly defending him and trying to deflect attention away by attacking me. Go figure

Ummm, you forgot to mention that she also proclaimed that he "WON" a Purple Heart!! This is of course something he's since had to deny when told that his records would be looked into by organizations that matter. :naw:

We probably should get some screen shots of this as I'm sure once he reads this, he'll edit or delete the content from his website just like everything else :rolleyes2:

Quite from the scammer who shall not be named
We then course went back and forth with a little argument. Now I have been banned from the group and all of my posts have been deleted. Eddie is also now accusing me of being a scammer and doing nothing for the troops.

Ok so I don't believe he was actually was a member here and really he is saying that Eddie doesn't want him on a run. The way he states this it sounds like he really just was stirring the pot so he could standup and say "poor me I got banned from WOL for providing awareness (actually lack of) to a cause".

Was he a member here?

No. He was never a member here. The only prior interaction I've had with him was on our Facebook fan page. After he deleted all his initial posts and accused ME of deleting them, I started to call him out and demand that he provide full disclosure of his so called "not-for-profit" organization. After repeatedly dogging my questions and calling in his supporters to hate on me, I banned him from there. Unfortunately, when you ban an individual there, all their posts become invisible to everyone except me. Fortunately, screen shots of everything has been posted on this thread so that you can see for yourself what really transpired.

Again, Robert Basil was NEVER a member of this forum and therefore, has NEVER been banned from here. In other words, ROBERT BASIL IS A LIAR.
