RubiCAT Gettin EVO'd UP!!

Wow Eddie that's looking great. Talk about attention to detail at Mel's shop!!! The welds look amazing and you can tell they put their hearts and souls into it... Can't wait to see it in person, maybe in Vegas???

please keep me posted on "snags" with the 2012 model. I am interested in going longarms and evo is one of the top 2 i am considering

so far, we're still looking into how to handle the exhaust loop but, for the most part, that's about the only thing that hasn't been addressed and, may not be any problem at all when all is said and done. as far as this new entry level coil over kit goes, no snags per se but, they are doing some minor redesign tweeks here and there as they go.

I'm waiting to see how Mel is going to mount the rear coilovers.

after an initial test fit and cycling of what they had come up with, they decided to change the design and make something that would function better and be more user friendly to install. i think the re-design will offer a better ride and certainly more pratical.

YEA that bolt on kit looks realy nice and still beefy! perfect for some one to do " under there own power" ..LOL!

this new entry level coil over kit really is nice and beefy and requires no cutting of the factory spring perches or shock towers. no welding is required and, being that it's bolt on, can be removed and your jeep can be returned to stock if needed.

OMG... bolt on coilovers?

I'm all over that when it's available. Heck, consider this a pre-order.

Loving my 4" Teraflex LA but the travel is too short (basically the stocks are too short). I think it'd work really great with coilovers and a little more travel.

Eddie, you know I'm in the market for a new lift. I like all others am dying to here the details. Do you have any idea as to ABOUT how much longer we are going to have to wait. I would hate to get a lift then come to read you guys released the info for the coil over system. Come on bud. Break us off a piece of info already. Lol.

the fronts are pretty straight forward and simply bolt onto the factory coil/shock tower. the rears are still be tweeked a bit to allow for optimal performance but, when done, they will be simple and straight forward. you need to remember that this is an "entry level" kit and it is not intended to compete with the evo lever - just be a much better option than a standard lift kit or any other coil over system currently available. there will also be added benefits that expedition/overland types will like but, until i get the okay, i need to hold off on more details. sorry.

Mel's a 4 wheelin mechanical genius. I can't wait to see how the back comes out. What is the shortest lift that is possible with this? For specific reasons I would eventually have a very capable smooth riding lift of about 2".

I understand. I'm just itching to blow some cash.

well, we're hoping they'll be able to wrap things up by the end of the week so, hold on just a bit longer.

being that you can order up coil overs to meet your needs, you can probably get a set that would allow you to run at about that height.

well Mr. fancy pants.. Can you at least divulge the amount of lift RUBICAT is sitting at? I am dying to know the details... Your Dozer is starting to get cooler than mine.... Cant have that :cheesy:

Looking badass!

Just saw a few new update pics of RubiCat on Project-JK and ORE Facebook wall photos. That JK is looking great, the ATX Slabs really make that rig look tough

as you saw it in the pic, that was about 4.5" of lift. we're going to run trimmed fenders and so, we're ultimately going to set that closer to 3.5"-4" max.

I will hold on. Just anxious to get rollin.

believe me, we're super eager as well

thanks, we're excited to get this thing finished and out on the trail :yup:

So...I think I have decided to upgrade to the 4 door JK with in the next year. I will most likely be buying used, so with this build that you are doing how much do you think that you have into the build...Just and estimate...I would really love to be able to bring it down there and have Mel work his magic, but I would really love to avoid the sales tax...any thoughts??

Here is a parts list so far NOT including the new coilover system since price has not been set yet on that and NOT including installation costs. Not 100% sure, but we estimate the new EVO bolt-on coilover system will probably be somewhere around $3500 including the coilovers - significantly cheaper than the EVO Lever DTD setup. :yup:
