Got a question for the group. I just tested out the wiring before soldering it in place. Compressor kicked on for about a second before I turned it off. Now the Jeep won't start. Lights come on, battery volts reads 12V.

I used that new thing my neighbor gave me to jump it. Started right up. Is my battery about to go? Compressor was on for like a second. Jeep wasn't running (obviously).

J13 is an ignition fuse and J17 is starter solenoid. I cant imagine how your wiring messes with those, but worth a look .

edit: Im dumb. It started after you jumped it.

Any chance while working on the Jeep, you've had the lights on too long? Both battery terminals tight? Does it start normally now several times?

Nope, didn't have the keys in the ignition while working. Yes, both battery terminals tight. Yes, starts normally now. After we got it started the first time, Kate drive it to get groceries. No problem starting when she came back out of store.

Strange indeed. Battery the original one?

I finished the wiring on the ARB Compressor, just need to clean it up and then I'll post pics. After installed, the battery died. A few times. Took it to Autozone for testing. Needs to be replaced. It's the original battery so probably about time. Glad it's dying in town and not on the mountain.

Went with the Odyssey Extreme 34r-pc1500t battery. Found it on apex battery for $239 out the door. Called up Quadratec and in less than a 60 second conversation the guy had me price matched, paid, and done. That is how you do customer service. 👍Battery arrives early next week.

Pricey as hell but the Odyssey is really the best out there in terms of batteries.

Tonight I did something I've never done before: put air in my own tires.

It was amazing.

Dealing with the whole battery situation delayed me a day or so but now that a new one is ordered, I cleaned up all the wiring tonight and bolted the seat back down. Runs like a champ. Nearly took a window out taking off the chuck when I didn't realize it was pressurized. Need to buy a few more attachments for it but so excited to not have to plan trips around towns to air up in. I'll post pics tomorrow once it's light outside.

Congrats on the install. How far did you air down and how long did it take you to air up?

Also, a simple trick (which I'm sure you already figured out), when you're done airing up, turn off the compressor switch, then press the valve on the air chuck to let the air out of the end of the hose, then pull the male fitting out of the compressor, flops right out.
