A comparison for coilovers vs rear cantilever from those that know.

Carry a spare tire, spare rear axle shaft, u joints for driveshaft and front axle shaft, zerk fittings, valve stems, nuts and bolts, code reader, ARB air line parts, fluids and a badass Hi-Jack lift but what do I know I'm just an off roader.

Thanks WJCO that might be your only piece of advice I actually listen to :drunkbuds:

I guess I just try to get by without spending money if I don't have to. My control arm mounts hang up on rocks from time to time as well. The picture below is a poor line I took and the Jeep slid off a rock and the entire weight of the Jeep fell on the mount and actually bent the .250 thick bracket on my ProRock axle. When I got home, the hammer and prybar I used to straighten it was just a tad under the $13k price of the genright 'elite' suspension kit. Who knows, maybe that kit would have saved me from buying a hammer and pry bar :idontknow:

That’s like saying carrying condoms makes you a porn star. Someone’s feelings just got hurt...

I didn't know they wore condoms. Wait are you talking about the California porn stars or...you are in Utah you're not suppose to know about porn stars.

Definitely not butt hurt. It's the internet!

Though some good points have been made. I'm likely going to keep looking at EVO as that is the company I've really been watching the last few years. Honestly I don't know much about genright, aside from seeing people talk about them hear and there. The things I do hear are good , but we all have our preferences.
I'm no stranger to hanging up on my control arm mounts. But running the rubicon on 35s solo ...it happens sometimes. Here's one from last month (sorry shitty picture) IMG_3989.JPG

I think just moving up to 37’s with more travel and new axles... you’re going to have a blast... regardless what lift you choose. Can’t wait to see you wheel with the upgrades.

Ha! Good deal. Thick skin, just had to needle you a bit for taking a shot at Eddie. I’m in Utah. Not from Utah. There is a difference.

You didn't state it in your original post , but I'm pretty sure everybody knew you were asking about EVO bot-on coilovers and the leveler. Well maybe not everybody. I'm still on the fence on which way to go with EVO bolt-on
or the leveler. Good luck and post up when you start....

yeah no matter what it's going to be a upgrade and being able to try obstacles I normally have to bypass, will be fantastic. Now if the funding would finely come through. After a year of waiting I'm getting impatient [emoji23]

True I just assumed it went without saying.[emoji23] can't go wrong with either but the lever really does seem like the better of the two.
My build thread will finally get interesting, when this process starts.

I've wheeled with my DTD setup for a while now and wheeled with a couple rigs running the Genright Elite kit and EVO bolt on coilovers. All were running 40s on full width 1 tons. One (Samuelh3) was running bolt on coilovers on 37s with stock axles. I could do a few obstacles easier but they could do other obstacles easier. One of the rigs was still doing a lot of shock tuning causing his vehicle to sway instead of articulate. For the cost of the suspension, I would think most of the tuning would be done already. Of course a lot depends on who did the initial setup. Samuel was able to do the same obstacles.

In the end, both kits are comparable; the biggest factor is how you drive. If you wheel hard like Eddie does, you never know when a part will just let go. If you trailer your stuff to the trails, then you don't have to worry about breaking a link. Just get it back to the trailer. I do that sometimes, myself. However, I do drive to some trails about 8-9 hours from my house. If I break a link, I can just remove it and get home. That's piece of mind. In the end, it depends on your situation, both monetarily and driving philosophy. Obviously, many of us here prefer the EVO DTD because it just simply works. It's your money in the end, knock your socks off. Just share some pics when you get it done.
