Awesome news. I might just do one wheel a day, depending on how the ring torques down. I would like to leave it overnight and retorque in the morning, before putting any load on it. Also not sure if I’ll be able to un mount tired from old wheels by myself.

Pink sounds good, I like it [emoji108]

Let me know when you want to start and I'll be happy to come help. It's gotta be easier with a couple people and a couple torque wrenches.

Thanks Chris, I’ll order the wheels today. I also need to stop by Discount Tire to get the balancing beads.

Take lots of pics so your thread preview changes!

Are you trying to say you don’t like my tractor?

Those Borahs are sharp - great choice!

Thanks, I like them too. I might try to get different bolts, I would like some hex heads on there.

That was quick....

They feel quite a bit heavier and more solid than my old Pintlers. The quality of the finish looks like it came from factory. I like [emoji2]

Looks like AEV really stepped up their game with the wheels.

Those Wheels are awesome. I like the silver rings to match the body color. The black bolts that you want would be sweet and match the centers.

Thanks, I really like those wheels.

I can’t believe they got them to you that fast! Now you have a weekend project!

That was really fast, they shipped in one day.

Ya might be able to get them from Grainger overnight. There's a location pretty close also.
Grainger is closed till Tuesday [emoji17]

SWEET Matt, those are going to look so good

Thanks, I can’t wait to install those and go wheeling.

If I keep looking at pictures of people's new wheels I'm gonna have to get some [emoji19]...
What are you waiting for? I know of some wheels that’ll look awesome on your Jeep [emoji6]

Did a deep torque job on her today. Touched every suspension component. Quite a few bolts were a little loose, nothing crazy but not to spec. The loosest being front track bar at frame side. The most satisfying part of the job is of course the “click”. I must say I am getting tired of torquing the track bar bracket, if there is a good soul living close by, willing to burn that in for me, please let me know. I actually might be seeing a welder in a not too distant future, been meaning to get my hands on one for a while now. Also can’t wait to ditch the AEV CA drop brackets and not have to worry about the torque on those things anymore.

Anyhow, I followed with a lube job. I mange to grease my drive shafts without removing them, but it takes a little finesse. Why did I get driveshafts with greaseable U joints again [emoji848]? Total, I counted 22 zerks. Nothing fun about this job except drinking light beer on a hot day.

Drives like new again [emoji4], everything feels tight. I have few small distinct humps on the road nearby. I use them as indicator to when it’s time to torque shit down. I think I do it about every 4-6 months.

I don’t want to hijack your for sale thread but I noticed u had soft doors in the pic. Do u still run them? Impressions?

Also, if you liked the specs of the Borahs, I just realized that the XD231 RG Beadlocks are surprisingly cheap compared to Machetes, Slabs, and Chambers & come in a fender coverage law friendly BS.

I bought them mainly for wheeling trips, most of the trails in off-road Park I go to get pretty bushy. I try to save my paint from pinstriping. I also like to run no doors when wheeling, so I just use them to keep me dry incase it rains on my way to the park. Sometimes when the weather permits, I run door less for few weeks at a time and if there is a day it might rain I’ll just pop them on really quick.
So, I don’t remember where I bought them, I think NR 4x4. Two lower doors weren’t really a good fit, the latch wasn’t really lining up with the Jeep. I tried bending them to get it to work, but I couldn’t get it. I called Bestop directly to complaint, didn’t really take much effort to get new doors sent out. I threw the other two out, I wish I was a member on here at that time, I would have put them up in a recycler for free. Anyhow they are still not and never will be a perfect fit, I have to slightly push them down when latching, not really a big deal to me. As far as rain, they’ll keep you dry. I wouldn’t count on them keeping the water out if you like doing deep water crossing, I can see some daylight on the bottom through the seals, but I think as long as you don’t get stuck in a water pit you’ll be fine. Another thing, on a windy day on a highway with uppers, lowers and top on, the uppers will pull open/away a the top by the windshield. I had to bend the upper rods were they insert into the lowers. So it takes two hands to close them, because you have to pull the uppers straight when latching to seal right, again not to too big of a deal to me. Also when all closed up, with doors and top on, the fabric likes to flap in the wind. Couple pieces of pipe insulation fixed that really quick. IMG_6869.jpg

When you want to pull them apart, you just undo the velcro and pull them out, that could be a little pain if you don’t bend the rods the same amount on the uppers, overall not too bad.
IMG_6868.jpg .
It could also be a bit loud on the highway with everything on and closed up. It’s tolerable, but I sometimes wear ear muffs on my way to the off-road park. I am hoping to make an 8 hour trip to SMORR for Labor Day weekend and I will be running them all the way there and back.

What I do like about them is that they are light, you just open the door and lift them right out, no straps or anything. I usually take the driver door off while I get out of the Jeep, ninja style lol. Each door breaks down to two pieces and with couple of bungee cords and a little finesse you can put them all in the trunk standing up against the back seat and still have a lot of room left in a back. Overall I am happy with them, they work great for what I use them for.

In your case, if you just need lowers to keep the cops off your back in your state, I think you would be pretty happy with them. It’s a really quick on a off application. You can just throw them in the back. When you throw uppers in the mix, it becomes a little bit of pain, but I think uppers are also good to have for the rainy days.

Thanks so much for the feedback on the doors. The reviews are pretty brutal online but you never know what the buyers expectations were.

Trying to decide is a slippery slope. The lowers can be had at a reasonable price. But then for another $150 I can get them with the uppers. Then for another $75 I can get them in Twill to match my premium top. Just empty every pocket right...
