How does everyone fund their build?

short answer: I'm an IT guy
long answer: I help run the central Exchange (email) and Active Directory system for a large university

It's about to pay for a new jeep (JKUR) but haven't figured out how to pay for mods yet. Seems like mods can run the same price as the jeep itself.

My brother-in-crime ramin allowed me to take my wife on a very rough trail in his EVO’ed out Jeep (complete with double throw downs).:thumb: Within two minutes my wife says, “We gotta get this suspension”. :yup: As soon as we got back from that trip (we were in Tahoe running the Rubicon) we threw down the deposit and the build started.:twocents:
The jeep is funded by eating mac/cheese every meal.

Working OT. I'm not fond of my company so only spend 40 hours a week there but now I'm wanting to replace things on the Jeep so I've been working overtime. Got shocks last payday and putting away money for upgraded brakes since the Jeep doesn't stop as well with 33s than it did with 31s.

Man! You guys have it so lucky there in the US :)

In South Africa mods are extremely expensive.

You can take the $ price and multiply that by 15 and that's what we pay here.

For example, a set of 35" mud tires and a 3.5" AEV lift can set you back R55 000!!!

That's a huge chunk out of, if not 100% of the average monthly salary.

Poison Spyder flat flares -> R15 000!!

Funding my mods in SA requires a full time job x 2 :) :)

I work 70+ hours a week. I don't spend much on anything else because I am always working so I can save more money for mods. Although I save more for buying a house.

Only 70? What do you do with all that free time? ;)

When I started my current job my boss said to me on the first day "we are pretty flexible with time here, you can work whatever 80 hours a week you want."

:cheesy:

Good to see some other long hour people here. And good luck saving for your house!

The house isn't going to happen that soon. Lol but a few years from now. Thanks!

I do grocery store refrigeration and work about 30 hours of overtime every week. Gives me plenty if money but not enough time to take my jeep out. And no time to work on it. So I will have boxes of parts and no time to install.

I do Strip-o-grams on the side. That's why my mods have been very slow going. Maybe I need to change up some of my moves!

Fiber optic tech for SASCO. Single family income with two teens and one tween. Need to trade crafts with someone that builds Jeeps. Please help.

For real I just save what I can. Little by little is the name of my game.

Just E-4 in the army, hopefully to become an E-5 soon. bought my 2012 JKUS bone stock 3 months ago and spent 3500 already with 2000 miles on it. I reenlisted 2 weeks ago to get 5300. signed my life away just for this jeep lol.

Air Force pay. Slowly but surely.

Hoping to come back from deployment and paying off the Jeep so I can devote more money to it.
