How Many Times have you been Pulled Over in Your Jeep?

I was pulled over one time in my 95 rio automatic. The cop said it sounded like I was accelerating too hard off the stop light while he was at the gas station. When I explained to him my jeep wouldn't do any more than 57mph without taking a dump he just let me off. It sounded like it was a racecar but that surely wasn't the case.

Whenever I pull a jeep over, I usually ask the driver if they take it Offroad. I let them choose their own destiny.

I get pulled over several
Times a month for failure to have a front license plate mounted. ( I'm not drilling holes in my bumper unless it suits me) most the time they just want to look at my jeep

have only been pulled over 2 times....once in my first car speeding downhill, another time for a seat belt while at the beach in my m3...deff thought I was getting pulled over for speeding or something since it was very loud and always sounded faster than it was. I was also taking my friend for a ride and he wanted to see what the acceleration was like. Another time I thought I was going to get stopped was leaving the bar with my x...in a very bad mood (no drinks) and had a supercharged 97 gti which ran a little rich...ended up throwing out a huge fireball on the highway and then saw high beams far behind me....slowed down right away and it turned out to be a normal car which was good since I was doing about 110

Now with the jeep I hardly ever speed....I am worried about fender laws in pa however since even with stock flares the tires stick out a little bit, im sure its only a matter of time.

some of these stories are great tho.

Only once... I let my wife drive and she rear ended a Scion. You want to talk about flex? She ran damn near over it. Scion = totaled Jeep = blue paint on solid steel bumper.

The inevitable just happened, I got pulled over for no mud flaps😂I have the Teraflex quick disconnect mud flaps already installed just thought I'd see if I can get by without them.

That's funny ~ the only time I've been pulled over in the last 4 years was in Encinitas. Wasn't in the Jeep or speeding ~ forgot to grab my dealer plate and the car I was in had blacked out windows, so I was stopped for the tint and ticketed for an unregistered vehicle on the highway. 101 in Leucadia shouldn't count as a highway. Took it to court, showed the judge a bunch of paperwork that proved the car was in inventory and they let me off with a $25 dismissal charge.

Before that was in bumfu*k North Texas between Wichita Falls and Gainesville heading from a gig back to where I was living in Sherman. The only actual town I went through that day had a 45-35-45 really quickly and I rolled through between the 45s at about 40. I was in a high top conversion van with blacked out windows and a skull and crossbones front plate and 2 subs in the back, enjoying something that's legal here in Colorado but is frowned upon in Texas. Granted, it was country music I was thumping and I had my dad's fraternal order of police sticker on the windshield and tag on the Florida plate. We chatted for a minute and he was really cool with me, because there was no way that officer didn't know what I was doing and he let me go with ticket for 10 over even though it was only 5. I didn't argue one bit and thanked him as I left. He could have impounded my van (with $15k worth of guitars, amps and computers in it) and plopped my ass in jail for a good minute.

This was a fun thread to read!:clap2:

I've noticed Encinitas has stepped up on vehicle code violators and traffic cops/ motorcycles over the past 5-7 years. The cop that pulled me over was as cool as can be. There's a legend growing about a motorcycle cop with a 70's porn style mustache that has about as much personality as a blank piece of paper. A total tool!

Yeah, that's some funny stuff Eddie!! Moby kind of stands out in the crowd of Honda Civics and Toyota Prissies on the road. I'm glad he didn't cut the ticket on you.

I haven't gotten one yet in the JK, but I know its a matter of time. I need to move my license plate carrier to the tire rack and get covers for the driving lights. I could have gotten nailed on friday with the HID's and Baja light bar on while I was blasting down the 8west freeway in a rain storm. The CHPy didn't pay me any mind and I cut the lights off real quick!

I live in Italy and I've been pulled over by the Polizia, Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanzia in my 2011 JK not less than 10 times. Not because I'm doing anything wrong, but they are interested in the Jeep. They sell Wranglers in Italy, but only a diesel version and they way things are going over here economically, not many Italians can afford to customize their vehicles. Add to that a 35% import tax on everything they order on-line. So my modestly modified JK gets a little bit of attention. The normal dialog goes something like this:

Cop: (translated) Good morning
Me: Good morning
Cop: Is this your car? May I have your documents?
Me: Yes. One moment
Cop: What is this?
Me: My registration. It looks different because it's American
Cop: You're American? Do you work for NATO
Me: Yes, at the airport.
Cop: This an American Jeep?
Me: Yes.
Cop: How much does it cost?
Me: In Italy or the USA?
Cop: Both
Me: 40,000 euro in Italy and $28,000 in America
COP: $%$@$# 40,000 Euro! Why does it cost twice as much in Italy.
Me: It's better in the USA!
Cop: It's unleaded?
Me: Yes, 3.8 liter
Cop: $#@$%@%. That's huge.
Cop: Have a good day. I need to go to America!

It's the same every time :yup:

Holy S**t, that's some funny stuff!
