Gauges Lit Up!

Old Jeep CJ-5’s only came with 3 gauges and 3 illuminated indicator on the dash for the lights, windshield wipers and hazard switches. A few CJ-5’s did come with an optional tachometer on the steering column but literally, that’s all there was. Unfortunately, when we got Jane, her oil pressure gauge had been replaced with a cheap aftermarket unit and a cheap tachometer was installed as well. While I was able to find a Stewart Warner replacement for the oil pressure gauge, the best I could find for the tach was an Autometer tach that looked pretty factory. The only thing that was really off with both is that they didn’t come with green tinted lights like they would have been from the factory. Needless to say, at night, they really stood out and just looked wrong. Fortunately, this was a super easy fix as Stewart Warner sells green bulb covers and for cheap and here’s what the gauges look like now.
